Great find OP - have some heat!
Do you know if the trip can be extended by a few more days? If so how much extra does P & O charge?

Omg, it's back to the 90s

France for a quid

.

Perfect for anyone wanting to make a few extra quid selling cheap booze and fags just before Christmas

I've found this too. "Travel Dover to Calais from £24 and receive 3 FREE bottles of wine this Autumn! " from their website.

Same every year, I used it in 2011

Voted hot for the Spanish in the title :-)

Time restrictions apply.

e.g. for the £15 return by car you must depart after mid-day, so 1pm French time, meaning you won't even get out of the port before about 2.30pm local time (perhaps later depending on sailing times). You need to be sailing back by mid-nght local time, so 11pm UK time.

But there's a deal starting from £19 that means you can leave at whatever time you like and return before midnight the following day.

The foot passenger deal from £1 only applies on Sundays, Mondays & Tuesdays. All other days, the costs of travel starts from £8. Time restictions apply to this deal too. (depart after 8:25am, so you'll be lucky to get out of the port before 11am, and return before 21:45pm local time the same day)

Can you not just buy two lots a few days apart? ie don't use the first return and don't use the second out journey??

Yes, absolutely correct.
They caught onto that little loophole several years ago and do charge supplements every time if you fail to come back on one journey and then miraculously appear for another 'return journey'

I'm looking to go on kids half term but few days

Its says in the OP 'or take your car and up to 4 people from just £15
'

I've got 3 children and the Mrs so how much is it for an extra child or does that mean the driver plus 4 people?

Calais has a lovely beach, for anyone not wanting to travel any further afield, with quite a few decent restaurants facing onto it

Ignore my last question i've answered it myself.............. £12

Je parle français un petit peu.

Booked and heat added. Ignore the stated "afternoon" daytrip, I booked 4 adults & car leaving 9:25am and back 8pm for £24.

So do loads of places near Dover - I don't really see the point in going to Calais for the beach (especially during WInter!).

Wow, brilliant.

Calais for a quid can't be grumbled at, although this is nothing out of the ordinary and ca be found regularly. Off for a spot of lunch there next Sunday. Escargot anyone?

Why do they insist on having to return the same day? Surely they would get more business if the dates were a bit flexible allowing people a few days over there. Can't really see the point in a single day unless you only wanted to go for shopping or something.

You'll find deals for longer returns from time to time and if you look hard enough. These £1 things have been going for years - used to do them all the time with all the lads back in the days of 'non-landers'. It's not really worth using them for booze and fags any longer - better off going to Belgium for that - but me and many other locals just use them for a change of scenery, lunch in France, or buying a cheese hoard.

Nope, but shop around anyway. I've never used 'redspottedhanky', or whatever they're called, but you might get 5 or 10 quid off with them if you find a voucher? You don't really see discounts on Network South East - I always find I can get a return from London Euston to Manchester cheaper than I can for the 130 mile round trip to London and back from where I live in the South East.

"So do loads of places near Dover - I don't really see the point in going to Calais for the beach (especially during WInter!)."

Don't have the hypermarkets etc though do they ? So if you were to read it in the context it's meant, ie after the shopping it's a nice way to spend the rest of the day, till the return journey, mind you having lived in Kent most of my life, I must say I've not found too many nice beaches other than Broadstairs that compare that well

Heat add was going to use Eurotunnel at 90 happy with this
