Supermarkets reducing short dated veg- who would have thought it

That's what I thought.

Thank you as a veggie Im in heaven got loads to freeze

Which store? or is it just all of them?

Why is it that only certain supermarkets clear out produce at heavily reduced prices as the best before date is reached?
Have noticed that both Tesco and Asda do this, which is a no brainer as whatever is left unsold, will cost them to dispose of.
Morrisons however only tend to knock about 25% off on its last day and about 50% off when it is actually out of date.
That is not being very environmentally friendly by getting stuck with goods that then have to go to landfill.
Maybe a law should be brought in, to set a really massive minimum reduction that has to be applied a few hours before expiry.
Then maybe our planet will waste a little less of our resources as a few more of us get these bargains. (_;)

Haha don't think this is a deal as they do this on a daily basis with a host of products lol but thanks for the try

1p in my local tesco
