An unexploded bomb goes off in Pimlico, uncovering documents which reveal that this part of London in fact belongs to Burgundy in France. An automonous state is set up in a spirit of optimism, but the petty squabbles of everyday life soon shatter the Utopian vision of a non-restrictive nation. This Ealing classic earned an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay.

A lovely film - I bought this one as part of the Ealing Boxsets being reduced, instore, at VIRGIN FROM £69.99 TO £9.99 SOME MONTHS AGO.(OOPS! GONE TO BIG capital LETTERS - SORRY). Thanx for the find Centi.

Hello - don't know if anyone else pre-ordered this, but it's supposed to be dispatched to arrive on day of release: Day of release is Monday of next week...
So, they should dispatch soon, like, tomorrow...

The price for this DVD on DVDPopcorn has gone up to £8.79, so I'm wondering if they'll try to wiggle out of the £1.45 orders...

Have I missed something, given the previous posts?

yes, a classic film. i was lucky to get it free when the Daily Mail had a week run of British Classic film giveaways. Def one for the collection, along with any Alistair Sim films.

What do you mean?

Excellent film, this is.

Kind Hearts and Coronets is another good one if you can find it, great twist at the end of the film!

£8.79 is too much OP was good tho - keep on trawling Centi. Good Effort.

I pre-ordered this at £1.45 ages ago, and since it's due to be released on Monday, I was just asking if anyone else had placed an order so that we could see if they honour that price... since they haven't yet dispatched but say it will arrive on Monday. I pointed out that their price has gone up significantly - to £8.79 - since.

Okay, FYI, this is how DVDPopcorn deal with preorders at a low price:

"Re Product: : Passport to Pimlico - the price has increased from £1.45 to £8.79

Since you ordered the above product the suppliers have increased their price as shown.

Whilst we normally absorb small price increases we cannot afford to absorb such a large increase and are faced with no option but to ask you to pay the higher price.

Please reply to this email to let us know how you would like us to proceed the item. Would you like us to cancel the order or are you willing to pay the increased price?

Please note that you have not been charged for the item at this stage.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Kind regards

Customer Services Team"

Apologies to anyone who ordered this and waited nearly a month just to be told that they wouldn't be getting it at the price they were quoted originally.
If anyone still wants this and doesn't want to pay the high price quoted by dvdpopcorn, it can be bought from ]Foxy for £5.75
