Not lidl's fault... or the kids... it's the PARENTS! ... I propose being able to smack other people with kids who have no parenting skills... or is it respect??... oh, it's respect for other people and property..

Anyone know when is the best time to pop into lidl for hot, freshly baked cakes straight out of the oven?
Edited by: "Awave" 16th Oct 2018
Our Lidl always has a full fresh stock around 9am

Smack them with kids, that's a delicious response, although how do you know if the kids have no parenting skills?
Do these taste like the nandos ones? I tried the Morrisons freshly baked and it was like chewing on cardboard!

Sorry, I didn't see it posted. Where is the original post? I will link it and expire this
I bought lots of these last time - no wonder I've put on half a stone! Must do more miles on the treadmill, especially if I'm going to Lidl tomorrow. And Thursday, And Friday. You get the picture.
Buy a 100 and charge 3 pounds on each like most artisan cafes
Stand by the pastries for a few minutes and watch the unwashed minging people fingering everything.

Do they touch the pastries as well
oooh will need to look out for these tarts, so yummy!!!

On a previous thread for these Lidl tarts I was advised by one of the forum members to try the ones from Hong Kong KFC. I just returned from my holiday there and they were amazing, thank you for the tip. I tried a Portuguese tart from a Macau restaurant in HK but it was too eggy and firm. It should have a soft and silky texture.

Hong Kong KFC ones are better but these ones aren't bad.

In my local Lidl they have let me buy trays of frozen doughnuts and the cinnamon buns off the bakery before to defrost at home. Find this more covenant sometimes when they have not defrosted enough to put out. Bakery stuff comes in frozen so they usually have quite a few trays in the freezer but suppose it's up to discretion of manager if they let you buy them frozen.

They certainly are for the foreseeable future at least 🏼

Every single time a post is made for Lidl bakery products some fool pops up and whinges about the items not being covered and everything should be pre packaged. I've been buying from bakeries all my life, the bread cakes and pastries are never covered and I've never caught anything by daring to eat an 'unpackaged' eclair. Can't you moaners just give it a rest PLEASE!

I'd agree with you entirely on most bakeries. The difference here, though, is that it isn't just a small number of staff (who have to adhere to strict food hygiene laws) who have access to the food - it's the general public, many of whom are quite happy to walk straight from a toilet cubicle to the food without going anywhere near a tap or some soap.

Having once encountered a particularly nasty bug after buying from a Morrisons open salad counter (and it wasn't Morrisons fault) I'd never eat from a food counter open to the unwashed hands of the general public again!
None in my local Lidl either, but they have got pretzels back. Asked member of staff and they had seen it on notice board so hopefully national soon.

Just found out there called Pasties de Nata pretty sure saw that label on empty tray

Managed to get one tart at Lidl, Arnison Centre today. I wanted 4! Think the store only bake one batch per day so I may have to get there earlier in the day (I was there about 1pm).
Heat for being in Leicester
