About this deal

Patagonia Torrentshell 3L Waterproof Jacket - AW22

Cheapest I've seen it recently was £136 but no longer in stock most places. Used to be able to get this for closer to £100 but a solid waterproof for the money.

Patagonia Torrentshell 3L Waterproof Jacket
Simple and unpretentious, Patagonia's trusted Torrentshell 3L Jacket uses 3-layer H2No Performance Standard technology for exceptional waterproof/breathable performance, all-day comfort, and long-lasting waterproof durability.

The Torrentshell 3L is a breathable waterproof fairtrade sewn jacket that provides all-day comfort for outdoor adventures. Constructed with a 3 layer waterproof and breathable H2No performance standard shell the jacket provides outstanding comfort, keeping dry and feeling free. The shell is fully waterproof repealing wet weather conditions and drying quickly for long-lasting waterproof durability. The shell is also highly breathable, allowing unwanted and intolerable heat to escape; replacing it with fresh air for a continuous flow of air, ideal for active movements. For added protection, the jacket features a microfleece-lined neck that offers a waterproof and breathable barrier against the elements whilst providing exceptional next-to-skin comfort. An adjustable two-way hood with a laminated visor furthers the protection you receive from the Torrentshell Jacket and is stowable when not in use. Two zippered handwarmer pockets provide great storage for essentials and a place to keep your hands warm when the temperature drops. Finally, venting pit zips allow you to inject a hit of air into the jacket when temperatures start to rise and the jacket can be stuffed into its own pocket when you need to shed a layer.

Sustainability - Shell: 100% recycled Nylon - Fabric is certified as bluesign approved - Fabric is Fair Trade sewn.

Brilliant jacket..BUT you will need to buy waterproof trousers as the cut is rather short, so the water runs off into your lap and arse. Top part of you will remain super dry but the bottom part will be soaking.
    Good deal though. Thanks

Had this issue myself with the berghaus deluge 2. Bought that and a pair of Adidas gore tex trainers for standing on the line coaching the kids on match days. The club issued tracksuit bottoms end up drenched, but everywhere else is dry as a bone. Recommendations for decent waterproof pants that don't cost the earth would be appreciated

I've owned this jacket for years, it's a brilliant piece of kit. The Rab (great brand too) equivalents all seem to be well over £200. I've used mine on week-long hikes in Scotland and it's never missed a beat.

I've always been really happy with the quality of all my Patagonia gear.

For me it's a no brainer at this price. (edited)

Much better options available from Mountain Equipment, Rab and Montane.

Don’t think it’s an amazing deal personally.

Also, worth noting students get 10% off. (edited)

Tbf to Patagonia their jackets perform as well as these brands but are more ethical/sustainably produced so a no brainier in brand choice for me personally.

Patagonia is a bit like the apple of outdoor clothing. If you ever want to resell they'll keep their value very well.

    How about Arc’teryx tho:D

Blue or green options same price too.
    Wish I could justify it.

If you live in the UK that is enough justification, this is a four seasons jacket. Sell your other jackets you won’t need another one 🏼

Am I right in thinking that this is a hipster's brand?
    Avatar
Yep it's all environmentally sustainable and has lifetime guarantee. So it's designed for people that want to buy once and keep the item for years and decades.

    Thanks OP, bought.

Worn my haglofs jacket for about 12 years and it's starting to come apart in the seams. Been eyeing up Patagonia as a replacement since haglof is a bit over the top and Patagonia has great environmental credentials

Added this to the cart too

Love Patagonia stuff but their own waterproofing is not great, in fact walking for more than an hour in the rain it's wetted out.

Found that with my Torrentshell that I bought 3 years ago (and sold for pretty much what I paid for it) - but that was the 2.5l one - anyone know if the 3l one is any better.

Thinking about that or a Moubtains Equipment goretex or a Rab Downpour. (edited)

Is there much difference between the Patagonia here and the Rab jacket here please somebody?..

Is there any way to avoid “allowing all cookies “ on this trekitt site. Thanks in advance.

How long does this last waterproofing wise?
    Avatar
It's debatable. It is proper waterproofing material, so if you are active in it, it doesn't let sweat out. This leads many to incorrectly believe that the waterproofing has failed and is letting the rain in. However, I reproof mine maybe once a year, maybe a little more frequently around the cuffs where water pools.

Cant buy it for ethical reasons.

    How so?
