True point, but the 60's were 50 years ago, this was 1 year ago. Regardless, it does feel a bit bitter paying £90 for 16gb RAM when they were going for £50 not so long ago. Still voted hot though.

Your analogy is rubbish there. Inflation has had an effect in those 50 years between then and now. Ram prices have increased sharply this year, and are likely to go down again. On top of that, 16gb is complete overkill for most people. I game, dab into Adobe products and surf the net and never touched 8gb even with 16gb. Sold my second 8gb stick for a 100% profit.

Sorry, I'm just waiting for you to say whether this is a deal or not, at the present moment, on HOT UK DEALS.

Most people know the current state of RAM prices, and if they don't, the info is easy to find. But some people, believe it or not, won't wait 6 months to build a PC so they can save £40 on RAM.

Not a great price- 8gb sticks are circa £50 at the moment.

Economics 101; Supply and Demand.

2x50=100.
100-90=10.
Here, have 10.

RAM prices seem to have dropped pretty sharply last month or so.

it seems that in the past 10 years each generation of DRAM has seen a point at which the memory chips were overproduced creating a huge price drop. what seemed to bump the price back up was the onset of a new generation, where production shifted to making a new type of RAM, making the old chips scarce.

since DDR4/5 doesn't seem to be happening any time soon, i can only speculate that Samsung and the rest are focussing their resources on making cheaper NAND for SSDs, and DRAM production has slowed because of it.

great!! cheers!!

It's a deal if it's cheaper than elsewhere which is objective but the word 'great' is purely subjective so is unimportant. Not sure why you are hung up on an irrelevant adjective!

How does this compare to : amazon.co.uk/Hyp…ZLO

Which do you think is better guys?
