I bought 16GB of Patriot memory 21/12/19. Delivery date 18/1/20 or up to a month later.

Probably not a wise purchase, as the memory will more likely than not come down in price and Amazon took payment 27/12/19.

Sounds like a win win for Amazon

Just get onto live chat and they usually refund the difference.
£104.99 now, still a decent deal and I wish I was in a position to upgrade to Ryzen. Not that I've used my PC in ages as I tried to finish off a watercooling build before my son was born and he turns 2 next month.

so what's the cheapest best b-die 2x16gb kit at the moment ?
According to the news on Hexus (Here), looks like nand prices are due to go up as much as 40% this year, for those waiting to build a system might want to pull the trigger sooner. However, these could be just speculation, so make your own judgement.
Keep an eye on OCUK. They were doing 32GB 3000MHz for £89.99 two days ago (currently £105), it's likely they will do it again.

Howdy folks, quick query before I go do more research (no matter how many videos or articles I check out RAM is still not a cut and dry decision lol) and probably make a decision but for those with the knowledge and a minute to spare, what you do..?

Wanting to finish off a new build, RAM and Mobo the only components left to buy and I'm having a hard time deciding what RAM to go for.

I suppose 16GB of 3600mhz RAM would be the way to go, this stuff looks good for instance amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=1 (Ooh sparkly!)

That said 32GB of 3200mhz isn't anything to be sniffed at either and though i'll mostly game I do occasionally edit the odd video here and there.

So in summary, which would you go for and why?

Cheers!

Probably that one. There's another G.Skill kit that's a bit cheaper, but only has a chance to be B-die, rather than guaranteed. It actually went as low as £201.24 on Tuesday (CCC apparently didn't catch it), having been dropping slowly all weekend, but it's been creeping back up since then. Even so, the current price would have been a historical low until this week.

Its really not necessary though to be honest. You can get Micron E die ballistix kits for less and they will comfortable run overr 3600mhz. Unless of course you like the G skill kits aesthetics.

RAM prices are on the up already by the looks of things. It's around £130 now to get 32GB 3200MHz RAM.
