These are only Cl15 at the base frequency of 2133Mhz. If you enable XMP to run 3866Mhz the timings are Cl18.

Save some money and buy the 3600Mhz Cl17 kit for £79.99

Speed demon!
I heared they straggle to keep that speed at cl15. Only thing that helps is lower it to cl18
Doubt you'll get those speeds on Ryzen with its pap IMC.

Fishing?
I’m looking forward to upgrading when the next gen consoles come out so have been reading these posts more recently. Currently the 3700X is the cpu top of my list but still have a year to go so maybe Intel will come back with something interesting.

That's very cheeky!

Edit - they're clearly marked as CL18 on the shop page.

err no Still picky as hell with RAM. Intel you stick it in and XMP profile works straight away, no hours of messing with BIOS and calculator utils to try and get it running at advertised speeds, pap.

It's not picky, not compared to Zen and Zen+. Yes you might need to plumb in some figures for overclocking, but that's hardly arduous and doesnt take hours at all. Open DRAM calculator, press R-XMP and choose the speed you want. If you dont fancy fiddling use the safe preset.

Cheap Micron E die is great on Zen 2. No need for high end B die like Zen/Zen+. Given the best performance is around 3800mhz with the IF 1:1 this can be achieved pretty cheaply too.

Ryzen 3000 handles 4600 quite happily but anything past 3800 doesn't add to general gaming/usage only benchmarking.

I have not run into any issues thus far across 4 moterboards with 3600, 3700x.and 3900x. Not sure what your point is here.

Nope, with 95% of server, 80% desktop and nearly all the laptop market, don't think they need any

I have the 3700x and it is amazing. I just hope next gen consoles help PC games to run more cores as atm my CPU usage sits at around 50% while I'm sure it would be a beast if 90% was being used.

Some of the newer titles are relatively well optamized for multi-core use. Sometimes its the polishing process that lets PC games down, or poor QA, or just laziness and incompetence. *coughFO76*
