Was looking for a cheap and reliable phone. This one looked good as per 1000+ reviews.

The Tesco Mobile Nokia 5230 mobile has a 3.2" touch screen with a built-in MP3 player, FM radio and 2MP camera. This mobile has access to the internet via WAP, allowing you to stay connected to social networking sites on the move.

Amazon has this for £114.99 (though SIM free)

+ 3% cashback (Quidco/TCB)

However, it is £53.3 in dial-a-phone (after £6.56 TCB). But only £10 top-up.Link for 5230 white

Not voting either way.

Forget about the Free Options to get it unlocked...This little **** costs around £25 to get unlocked and I've asked at a number of places. Most of them couldn't do it in shop and needed to sent it aways so I'm guessing that the quickest way is to stump up and pay the Network to unlock it. Mine is on T Mobile and I paid another £20 than this deal for it but didn't mind as it came with the Sat Nav cradle package, 6 months Free Internet and Unlimited Music Downloads from Nokia Music for 12months which, despite what some will have you believe, are now infact DRM free!

the price might reduce further in future as it came to £59 from £79 after few days it might be available for less than £50

Not so true, that Picasso I've has my eye on for a few decades is well over due a cut but no. Someone must be buying 'em..

Very dated phone now, symbian is long in the tooth compared to Android, even at £59 it would be advisable to save your money towards a better smart phone.

anyone know which phone has the loudest ring tones, want to buy one for hubbys birthday, he keeps missing calls on his as he cannot hear it.thanks

tell him to turn the volume up and use vibrate.....unless he just says he doesnt hear it and is ignoring you

A good phone with GPS (No 3G / wifi) to use with free nokia maps.

Dont buy this phone if you looking to unlock it otherwise buy it from CPW.

Orange San Francisco? Never heard of it. You'd think somebody would post a deal for it if it were that good wouldn't you....? (_;)

This phone uses SS3 locking mechanism to which only Nokia and the operators have unlock codes for. Oh, and one person who charges 40 quid a pop (probably the algorithm author).
Good phone for its price, no 3g but has edge and a great gps.
Not sure if its worth putting the extra 30 quid in for a san-fran but if you are looking primarily for a gps device - ovi maps is the best, has lane assist and traffic updates too.
If this comes with music, drm-free music for 12 months too.

Good phone for its price, no 3g...........

It has. But the San Francisco's still a far better bet for very little more (and easily unlockable, too).

Awful to text on.

Unlocked for £64.90 (inc £10 top up). It is refurbished though.

My bad, was thinking of the 5530. They did the 5800, 5530 and 5230 - the 5230 is a cheaper version of the 5800 as it has a 2mp cam with the 5530 being the cheapest of the lot cos of no 3g.
Silly numbering convention...

I'm waiting for the san fran to hit about 75 quid then will pounce

good phone, i've had its big brother, the 5800 for two years really nice phones

And the Shocking 5228, was just looking at it thinking it was a good phone for the money, till i realised it has no GPS, No Wi-fi and a 2.0mp camera!! Eek!

THIS PHONE HAS 3G! There I feel better now.

On v40 firmware and using swype and this phone has improved in usability for me. I still want to smash it on occasion due to its slow laggy interface and resistive touch screen, the Nokia GPS software is the best on any mobile phone platform.

This phone is very hard to unlock. unlock shops treat this phone like a plague
