Heated as it is a great feature of Paypal that few probably know about, but also isn't anything new, has been ongoing for a few years at least now and (hopefully) is looking like a permanent feature of Paypal.

Really helps take even more of the risk factor out of online shopping...

Useful when A-holes on eBay refuse to accept responsibility when you try to return faulty goods. Just had this recently and PayPal refunded my postage. Although it cost me just a touch over £15. eBay sellers should have to refund full cost + your returns postage on faulty goods. Policy isn’t fair. I understand sometimes sellers cannot be 100% sure that goods are faulty, but as a buyer, why should you have to pay to return a faulty item? Useful post! Thanks

Thanks, good to know. Is this kind of etiquette rule written down somewhere in a newbie thread?..

Thanks I didn't know about this, it might very well come in handy.

But i'm wondering if it's still able to be used as it says: Returns on Us We can refund up to £15 of return shipping costs for up to 12 eligible PayPal purchases worldwide until 31 December 2017.*

Could do with changing wording of title to "Up to £15 per return and up to 12 returns per year"

In a nutshell, do you have to pay for your Royal Mail returns postage using Paypal in order to be eligible, or can you provide a receipt from a post office instead?

No reason to be bitter as both are these are only reachable if you have the specific badges for them achieved.

You pay it but then claim it from Paypal by uploading your receipt and they will refund it in your pyapal account after few days (edited)

If they're business sellers in the UK, then they do have to pay return postage for faulty goods under the Consumer Contract Regulations.

Everyone has to accept returns for faulty goods so I'm not sure what that post was all about unless he didn't open an Ebay claim.

I don't understand this as you do get a full refund on postage if you put in a claim via eBay, I have never paid for returns on eBay for faulty or not as described?
You don't go through the seller you put in a claim via eBay and they will refund you for the item and the postage.
Sellers are forced to refund you this way no arguments you get what you paid for.

This is pointless as most retailers will pay for returns anyway especially for faulty goods.

Was gutted years ago when I got shafted by a crook on eBay. I sold him this phone for about £150 when they were newish. He managed to simply extract the cash from PayPal saying he didn’t get it put me off selling on The Bay
