This deal is insane as a current player. The latest expansion (Shadowbringers) alone is £30 currently!

If anyone decides to play and join let me know, I'll hook you up with a code for extra goodies!

This is a bargain for anyone thinking about starting the game.
I will never pay a monthly sub to play a game ive had to purchase. Its robbery.

Respect your opinion, your fully entitled to it, but I would say thay for the amount of hours of gameplay you get back, the costs, even with sub and initial purchase more than make up for i
I had a go of the free trial of this a while back and put about 20 hours into it. I have to say it didn't really grab me as the majority of my time was doing fetch quests and engaging in really dull combat that involved using the same couple of moves over and over. I take it you have to put in a lot more time for the story to take off and for the combat to get a bit deeper? I've heard the later expansions have a really excellent story to them but I'm not sure I can be bothered to spend hours getting to the good stuff.

I was just considering this or wow last few days so good deal and timing. Just wanted to check if this also works with lapsed accounts? Think I have until heavensword already on PC and PS4.

I was on this point of view before FF14, other MMOs did feel like a robbery but with how frequently this one is updated it really does feel like paying for something new everytime, I took a long break from the game for a few years and now after returning I'm struggling to catch up quicker than new content is released, the final goal keeps moving faster than I am advancing, seriously so many regular updates

when it came out the start was a lot more fun, as more has been added the start of the game is just slow to get to the good stuff - so it is off to a slow start but gets better as the game advances

Hmm I'm afraid I don't know the answer to this one. I do know that like WoW, the base game and the first 2 expansions is included in the base subscription if you do not have the latest expansion purchase. I'm unsure of what's in the box if it's just a single key or two or more keys. I would bank on that it will work with current accounts though, as it would make much more sense for it to do so than not.
"Includes 30-day free subscription period for all newly created service accounts."

Shame existing accounts won't get the 30 days, but this was around £25 when I checked a few days ago so makes for a fairly good deal.

Thanks. I bought it before you responded so will update later if it works. Now I need to find a casual community for the occasional dungeon. I used to be on server second guild on twintania but those days are long behind me. Casual now so hope the content can be played casual too. That was reason I was leaning towards wow due to dungeons and LFR being relatively casual friendly.
I wish it was this price on ps4, but don't we all!

In that case I won't worry. Everything is casual except for hard mode end-game raids and extreme mode trials, plus the "ultimate" series which is hard-hard mode but there's only 3 of them right now at the time of posting. Not sure how far you got on Heavensward but it uses that system where even the end-game raids have 2 modes, a normal and rather casual one and the hard mode of course.

Despite the wording the way it works is you get 30 days of gametime everytime you register the base game A Realm Reborn for a new platform (Windows, Mac, PS4) that you haven't registered before.

Also note that while trial accounts lets you play indefinitely with a level cap (and thus a barrier for story/content progression) of 35 for each class/job, once you register the game you have to be subscribed to play, even if you're still below level 35. So if you want to squeeze the most out of the free time, wait with registering the game until you hit level 35 if you can live with some restrictions on chat channels, forming parties etc.

That's good to know. I stopped playing once we took down twintania and that was before the nerf. So the only casual PVE content was the primal and earlier wings in the raid.

I had a look at my account and it seems to suggest I can add code for this complete version so looking good. Once CDkeys gives me my code!

Thanks for the help
Great to hear the code can just be applied on top.

During the base game days there were no difficulty separation for Binding Coils, so that would be rated for the hardcore crowd. Nowadays it's nice and split and you can easily duty finder for it all. PVE casual content comprises a huge amount of the game now and for myself I only never do hard mode primals (trials) and raids. Everything I gobble up happily and never needed to find a dedicated group. You get your odd bad days in duty finder of course but it's mostly successful.

Good to hear. It was pretty much hardcore when I was raiding which was just the first 5 binding coils. So glad to hear there are content for raiding and dungeons via duty finder.

Also, I have applied this to my account and it works. However, as expected I didn't receive any game time which is fine.
