[PC] Firewatch and The Long Dark now on OnePlay (3 month discounted subscription 76p)

Found 1st Oct
Firewatch and The Long Dark have been added to OnePlay (the games rental service), with Grim Dawn now withdrawn. They rent 2,000+ PC games in a variety of genres and themes, you can download as many as you want to try (not all their games can be rented). I write this having enjoyed Firewatch over a couple of nights (it's a 4 hour game).

Recent additions:
FirewatchMetacritic: 81% (65 critics,6.9 from 957 users), Steam: Very Positive83% (27657 reviews)
Amnesia: The Dark DescentMetacritic: 85% (44 critics, 8.7 from 1247 users), Steam: Overwhelmingly Positive 90% (9283 reviews)
Trine 2Metacritic: 84% (55 critics, 8.4 from 673 users), Steam: Overwhelmingly Positive 96% (9382 reviews)
The Long DarkMetacritic: 77% (14 critics, 8.2 from 126 users), Steam: Very Positive 91% (26998 reviews)
FuriMetacritic: 76% (12 critics, 7.6 from 88 users), Steam: Very Positive 92% (1576 reviews)

Highlights:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of ChernobylSteam: Overwhelmingly Positive 95% (5505 reviews), Metacritic: 82% (44 critics, 8.4 from 1107 users)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of PripyatSteam: Overwhelmingly Positive 95% (5216 reviews), Metacritic: 80% (44 critics, 8.7 from 613 users)
The Vanishing of Ethan CarterSteam: Very Positive 89% (6345 reviews), Metacritic: 82% (66 critics, 8.1 from 700 users)
Lego Marvel Super HeroesSteam: Very Positive 93% (7201 reviews), Metacritic: 78% (7 critics, 8.1 from 124 users)
Legend of Grimrock 2Steam: Very Positive 92% (1628 reviews), Metacritic: 85% (38 critics, 8.1 from 341 users)
Painkiller: Black EditionSteam: Very Positive 92% (115 reviews), Metacritic: 81% (62 critics, 8.1 from 288 users)
Darksiders (Warmastered edition)Steam: Very Positive 82% (1315 reviews), Reviews of an earlier/alternative version: Metacritic: 80% (17 critics, 8 from 16 users)
(details are reused from previous deals).

OnePlay have a 76p ($1) discounted 3 month subscription, then a $29.99 3-monthly subscription, so it's fun to try for a period, but I would suggest cancelling at the end of the period (their terms suggest discounted offers will only apply once per household) - set a reminder. Year-long subscription discounts have been available (e.g. Nov 2016), but at the moment the three-month subscription is the most discounted. You may want to pick short but sweet games to ensure you complete them before your subscription runs out (try how long to beat).

The available games are single player or local multiplayer games (no online multiplayer). It can be tough to find the good amongst the bad (those that can be rented include a green "Install Client" link), but for more games see the list in a post below, or my deal listing all the then highlights, ordered by Steam rating. PC, rather than Android, is their main focus. Some have found the service difficult to sign up to in the past.

If this is legit then that's a great price for grim dawn.

Bear in mind you'll only have access as long as your subscription is active l, you don't get it to keep for that price (much like PS+). Probably not a problem for a lot of people given you have 3 months to play it but might be a factor for some; especially with a game like Grim Dawn which can be a real time sink.

Never heard of this service but considering you can complete Firewatch in a couple of hours it's definitely worth it , great little game , loved the voice acting and change of pace from my usual blow up everything I see

Crap ending though.

This was posted before.

I have actually tried this, Firewatch runs smooth but Grim Dawn is unplayable for some reason. I have a Geforce 1060 so it is not my setup.

I Wouldn't say crap, just anti climactic.

I would agree, I was left wanting a bit more from the ending but it definitely wasn't crap

I don't see any of those half decent games you have listed in the OP. the games on their website which they are showcasing seem to be ones which are mostly pretty low tier/quality (and have been bundled before) . a LOT of crappy android games for some bizarre reason. Certainly not worth $10 a month. much better off subscribing to Humble Monthly where you get 7 decent games and you can keep them.
pretty good idea having a subscription service, but without many more decent games (ones not been bundled too) it doesnt seem to be worthwhile.

I've added direct links to the games I've listed to make them easy to find (and the full list). I agree, it's probably not worth $10 per month, but it's fun to try a subscription for the games you want.

Possibly stupid question, but has anyone found out how to cancel the subscription? I've looked everywhere, and the faq on how to cancel is so outdated it doesn't apply to the site anymore....any help?

That site also says Diablo 3 is an 18.5 hour game but plenty of people put a lot more than that into it. Same principle here.

I've added Victor Vran to the list above.

I hope everybody grabbed the games whilst they were available. Hmm, this morning they removed Grim Dawn and Victor Vran from the OnePlay site and app > Maybe they'll be back.

They do have form for removing games - Vertical Drop Heroes HD and Three Fourths Home in the past.
