Social club key (not steam) - avoid as their platform is notriously terrible.

One of the best games i've played and the only one since half-life that i stuck with to the end to complete. 30+ hours of entertainment in single player alone.

Visually stunning game.

What a strange comment Apart from the download servers and the Steam overlay, BOTH versions use the Rockstar Social platform.

Edit: Found some more info for you...[LINK]

"There aren't two versions. It's just two different stores.
Both run off of Rockstar's social club. People who buy from steam will still have to set up a social club account.

So the yes answer is to both.
People from Steam will have to use a social club ID so there is no difference.
Just have your friends tell you their social club ID and add them through there.

I've just bought one from green man gaming for £17 so annoying. Great price, voted hot.

The problem, historically, was that downloading the game from Social Club took EONS and EONS - it just didn't have the bandwidth that Steam can offer

Move forward a few years - there aren't the 10s of 1000s of people downloading it so the problem isn't so significant - although I must admit I'd rather have it on Steam just because it's easier to keep-track of stuff - I'd even pay a bit more - BUT - you can only get the Steam version from Steam themselves, ALL other keys are Social Club keys...

Yeah, I do remember the issues with Rockstar's download servers, but to be honest I haven't heard anything of the sort recently. In terms of the Steam client addition, it is always possible to add the game as a non-Steam title, it would still give you the overlay and what have you, but the updates etc, would be handled by Rockstar.

I think it's lowest on Steam is around £19.99 (£18.99 if you use CDKeys) and I get that obviously Steam is the preferred option for many in most cases, but as mentioned previously, I think the discount on the RS Social Club version is significant enough to accept the small loss

I found the opposite myself. Couldn't stand half the characters. Also I like playing as one character far more emotionally investing etc.

And ironically for a GTA game I actually found it fairly sleazy. Weird seeing as I loved GTA 3/Vice City...

I ordered last night but they had an issue and had to refund me instead of sorting the order out

Can the code be used on my steam account?

Game over.
