ABOUT THIS GAME

Story
Four years into the brutal military occupation, America is on its knees.

Philadelphia - once the birthplace of Independence - has become a ghetto, where surveillance drones and armoured patrols keep the population at heel, crushing any dissent with savage force.

Her once-proud citizens live in a police state, forced to collaborate just to survive, their dreams of freedom long since extinguished.

But in the badlands of the Red Zone, in the bombed out streets and abandoned subways, a Resistance is forming. A guerrilla force, determined to fight for their freedoms despite overwhelming odds and ignite the second American Revolution.

But Freedom always has a price…

Overview
Homefront®: The Revolution is an open-world first person shooter where you must lead the Resistance movement in guerrilla warfare against a superior military force.

A living, breathing, open world responds to your actions - you and your Resistance Cell can inspire a rebellion on the streets and turn Occupation into Revolution, as oppressed civilians take up the fight.

But your enemy has the advantage - superior technology, firepower, heavy armour and air support. You must learn the art of guerrilla warfare – ambush, sabotage, infiltration, deception – and fight a running battle through the war-ravaged suburbs of Philadelphia.

And the single player campaign is just the start – in Co-Op you and your friends can form your own Resistance Cell and become renowned as Heroes of the Revolution.

Features
Explore a living, breathing open world - experience true open world gameplay in a first person shooter, brought to life with astonishing CRYENGINE-powered visuals

Wage Guerrilla Warfare - this is no linear shooter; learn the art of guerrilla warfare and use ambush, infiltration and hit and run tactics against your foe in thrilling un-scripted firefights

Build the Resistance - recruit revolutionaries to the cause, establish bases and safehouses, capture and customise a deadly arsenal, and build improvised, homebrew weapons for your Guerrilla Tool Kit

Ignite the Revolution - from oppressed citizen to revolutionary leader, an epic single-player campaign tells the story of the second War of Independence. The dynamic, evolving world responds to your actions as an oppressed nation rises up in defiance against the occupation

Online Co-Op - take the battle online, form a Resistance Cell with your friends and earn your reputation as Heroes of the Revolution

I'll repeat myself,

Because something is free doesn't mean it's worth your time

Ignore the price
If it's painfully bad to play then why would you bother

This is one of those games which are torture to play, I heard in the deep pits of hell they have consoles setup, They have controller made of lava and they force you to play Homefront Revolution

And I played it on PS4 and enjoyed it. There’s a hierarchy of options here, lol.

I bought the game a couple of months back and have only played the single player (and I play with an Xbox One controller), but I really enjoyed it. You follow the story across a couple of pretty large and detailed maps with a lot of climable buildings that have interiors that serve as savehouses or hiding places. The maps are linked together with an underground metro system that serves as fast travel. Every map is divided into a couple of sections and you can take them over one by one which is really enjoyble and can distract you from the main story if you want to do something else for a moment.

Anyway, for this price I can highly recommend it. I think in the months I played it it only crashed 1 time, the rest of the time it runs smooth with a constant 60fps on my 1060.
Totally worth playing, one of those games that was a real mess at launch , but thankfully the devs stuck with it and turned it around....same as the last Mass Affect....great game really now that it has been patched.
It’s a terrible game. An insult to the original one which was pretty good, although way too short.

Totally agree - Could only stomach 3-4 hours of the story mode and it's complete pants . Was so looking forward to this game on release but a total let down on all levels - forget the tech stuff eventually being ironed out - it's a stinker to avoid.

Saying that I hope they don't give up on the series and would love to see a Homefront 3 as the Idea & concept is too good to waste but only if the developers accept their mistakes.

I know, you just can't please all of the people, all of the time..but I guess if I had paid full price at release, regardless of the game working now, some hate would still be lingering.

This is the PC version, runs well on a decent specced system, ps4 version is sluggish and a bit ropey in comparison, I've played both.

Doesn't excuse the mediocre story, it's also still a buggy mess.

I liked the story, but it is not a buggy mess on PC
Please do not waste your money on this, one of the worst games I've ever played!

I bought this on sale a while back and really enjoyed it. I had no bugs or crashes and it ran smoothly.

Wouldn't do for us all to like the same things I guess.
I bought this for £4 and am really enjoying it... i think if you got it near the start then i can understand the hate as i gather it was a bit of a mess.
