Are you sure this is a Steam key? All the Rockstar games on Funstock say 'other DRM'.

Hmm I am 99% (maybe 70%) sure when I posted the white title had 'Steam Key' at the end, I've Tweeted Funstock for clarification, will amend title until sure.

Rockstar DRM according to the rep on reddit.

There is also a comment:

"GTA, LA Noire and Max Payne are NOT steam keys, they appear like other DRM. I bought Max Payne 3 thinking it was a steam key."

Gamesplanet has the Steam key for £4.99 though.

Seeing as everybody and his dog has Rockstar on sale it is possible GMG or Nuuvem will beat that later today though.

Nuuvem is a dead deal

Not sure why they all do it on the same day though, is there a National Rockstar Day I missed?

(Apart from the weekly Xbox Live one :D)

I know yeah they should have variety not all do the same deal on the same day

Even cheaper on Nuuvem if you can get a VPN to work

Can someone please explain how this works?

Is this the full game? Does one purchase it through funstock and it is delivered by download (through steam?). I don't have a steam account, I guess I need to open one. I only know the old fashioned, 'game on a disk' approach

The Funstock download isn't a Steam DRM, its DRM free. If you want it on Steam I would grab it from Greenman Gaming as seen in comment number 6.

If you don't have the Steam client, download it from here. Register an account and then redeem the key given to you by Greenman Gaming to download the game through your Steam client. Any issues, just yell

I have no preference. Steam or other client. Is there any reason to go for one or the other?
So now if I add this item to my basket, pay. Then what? Do I get a download link to the game?

(As you can tell I've never bought a game through this new fang-dangle interwebs thingy). I just want to purchase my game and play it

The one from Funstock is DRM free, so doesn't require a client such as Steam to use, you just download and install as you would with any other product. It does use The Rockstar Social Club, but thats the same with most of their games.

Cheers. All the info I needed. You deserve a cookie! Going to buy in a few ticks. What through me off, was the price difference between funstock and steam.

May as well get Max Payne 3 too. I am working my way through all the great games I've missed over the years. Just need an offer on Half-Life 2 + addons and I am happy!

Both Funstock and GMG seem to be expired now.
