Pour direction, greed and bleeding money on terrible ideas and executive pay.
Ubisoft in particular lost most of the capable devs, they are pushed to copy paste, ignoring genre (they just need things to look slightly different), but even if they were allowed to development unique concepts, I fear they no longer possess the talent to follow it through.
