PC Specialist - Defiance V 16.1" RTX 2080 Max-Q - £1729

Despite all the hate against Max-Q laptops, this pricing is insane compared to other RTX 2080 Max-Q laptops. Just for comparison's sake, the RTX 2080 version of the Razer Blade is £2850! The price of the one I've listed has 2x8GB DDR4 2400Mhz RAM, 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD and is preassembled for next day shipping. This is what I consider the minimum of any gaming laptop nowadays but feel free to customise. Pricing starts at £1640 at the start

EDIT: Changed to preconfigured for next day shipping, double the SSD storage and £46 cheaper

Astonishing price considering. Lots of heat
Been looking at them for a gaming laptop but thinking the full fat laptop 2070 in the recoil 2 but the screen isn't g-sync. Hear they are getting 1440 res screens around May according to the forums.

I ordered the recoil II rtx 2070 last week for £1600. Looking forward to receiving it.
Could buy a decent car for that.
Still voted hot!

Would there not be issues with the warranty though?

Yeah will do. I'm upgrading from a Asus Rog moba edition (1060 and i5)
I think this going to be my next gaming laptop.

Not 100% sure though. If they officially start selling QHD screens, I think they allow you to do it yourself as long as you dont break anything.
Fantastic price! Read a post recently that someone spent over a grand on a 1060 laptop!
Anyone got a review of one of these? How are the panels and thermals?
Seem like a good deal but only 180W power supply options...

Its based off the clevo p960 chassis and i believe theres a few reviews on youtube
No idea about this high-end product from PC Specialist, any idea?

My Company use their mid-range Laptops and even the top-specs one are disastrously slow. I have an i7-8th Gen processor with 32GB ram and 256GB SSD, and I use some compute-intensive engineering software and it is very slow and sluggish. I ran some benchmarking test and results was much less than the expectations from that specs. So, no surprise why they are %50 cheaper than they rivals with same specs.
If you already have spare RAM/HDD to put in this, you can select no Windows OS and the price then starts at £1,547. Then pick up a Windows 10 license online for £9. Saves you another £84.

Did the same, although I made some upgrades and the total price was £1800. Now that I travel every week for work I have no choice but to game on a laptop nowadays, hopefully the laptop is awesome.
Side note: the 17inch version has gone down in price. It's now only £20 more for the same specs.

Got it on Monday mate and Im really really impressed with it. Looks great and plain which I like. I don't like the OTT design of most gaming laptops. This is nice and sleek and black. Mechanical keyboard feels great along with the big trackpad. Display is very good and plenty vibrant. The 2070 gpu just eats anything you throw at it at the moment and thermals are around 75 after a few hours play.

Excellent have you run any bench marks such as time spy 3D bench mark? The other model I was looking at the recoil 2 has been mentioned in the forums, as some are running low until put in sleep mode and woke back up. They are getting about 6000ish before and between 7000 and 7500 when it's running properly.
If your getting the top end this model ticks another box for me.

Timespy I got 7154 I think it was. Game wise I've played Sekiro, division 2 and metro exodus so far. Sekiro and division 2 are fully maxed out and 60fps. Metro exodus just dips below 60 here and there at ultra with all bells and whistles. Metro games are always bloody power hungry. They all look great though. Noise wise you definitely hear it when the fans kick in but I don't think I've ever had a gaming laptop that's quiet in the 7 that I've owned. I wear headphones anyway so it's all moot.

17.3

Really small bezel so it makes the screen seem even bigger but overall the laptop is barely bigger than the 15" Asus I upgraded from, so no need to change my rucksack etc.

That sounds perfect if your pulling that framerate at ultra.
