Doesn't matter as lead times on PC Specialist are usually weeks as they're custom builds.
Is this a good deal for a gaming laptop?

Can anyone recommend a configuration on components?

More for streaming, downloading, movies and occasional gaming
The 1650 is a little bit better than a 1050ti where as the 1660TI performs close to a laptop 1070 so it's worth spending more to future proof it unless your grahpical requirements are low

I bought a gaming laptop from them a while ago it was good value specs wise but the build wasn't the best Things might have changed since then, it was a machine made by clevo which is what a lot of these companies use for the custom gaming laptops

Bought a laptop from them a couple of years ago and had nothing but problems with it, must have gone back to them to "fix" various issues with it 3 or 4 times and every time came back with either the same issue, or new ones. Just one example is they apparently replaced the laptop display with a brand new panel as the original one had serious backlight bleed. The new panel which they allegedly tested for any problems came back with 3 bright spots that were clearly visible at all times. Eventually got fed up and sent it back but only got a partial refund as it was over 6 months old.
Amazing deal

You’ve had this GPU and CPU for a few years? Impressive!

You can upgrade to 16GB in the options, or buy more yourself which is probably cheaper.

i'd personally think in this way:
it's a 9th Gen Intel
has 8GB RAM (probably you will need some more so.. extra cost)
has a GTX1650 which have just sarted the lifecycle (future proof but subject to "unexplored conditions" as all new releases) (it is placed between a 1050 and a 1060)
no OS (could be a pro or a con depends on you)
take into consideration what specs you want for your screen (IPS/TN, @60/120/144Hz)
is a backlit keyboard relevant to you or yuor needs
warranties and amenities.
brand/retail fame/reliability.

is this worth £840?
personally i think there are far better spec machines for the same price or just little more..

MSI has a 1060 for 1k. Some would tell you to wait the the class action against MSI with the hope it will force the vendor to drop overall prices.
ASUS
Acer
You can find good 1070s around (1.1-1.2)k
Plus this is a transition period where you will see more and more 16xx and 20xx series coming up at premium price while the old 10xx will progressively drop..
Ultimately the choice is yours...
Perhaps not this exact one but my gaming laptop is from this company & I am just saying it is still running as smoothly as it was the day it arrived! This is after very extensive usage and it's 3 years old coming up to 4
