Half decent pre-built system for the money. Case isn't half bad either, considering most pre-built systems are terrible looking (in my opinion.)

Clothes pegs, just £2.70!

Oh, are we not just posting random things?

This deal is fairly decent.
On the other hand, the comments in this thread are embarrassing.

Hmmm only 350w power supply? I get my computers off ebay. Got an old server for 150 with xeon 4 core i thread and stuck in an rx 470 (equivalent to 1060) for 300 quid (gpu now 100 pounds more due to miners)

Last time I looked 2nd hand i5 2400s were on ebay for less than 200? So 450 should get you a 1060 and a 2nd hand pc?

I tell a lie 94 quid computers in leeds where I got mine from

Look at this on eBay ebay.co.uk/itm…393

Has win 7 licence. You download it onto usb stick. Install it. Then upgrade to 10 via accessibility. Could buy extra memory and graphics but base pc is 94 quid! Maybe should just post that as a deal!

The one I posted might be a small form factor pc after googling. It looks bigger in photos. That would restrict you tomaybe a 1050 ti (do they come in small form factor? I got a 750ti small one)

Need to confirm if that ebay link can take full sized graphics cards or not

Sorry Op Cold It's Core I5 is old tech and should be half that price considering Core I9 is rolling out it's not even decent Video card or SDD which it should have as standard imo for that price Core I5 Should cost about £250 or less Core I7 Should be around £700 some places are still trying to sell core I7 machines with a 1050 Ti video card for over £1,000, which they justify as trying to make machines accessible for a cheaper price it's so they can max out their profit they can run up my ribs for tech packages at those outrageous prices it's an insult a multi billion £ a year company cant give its customers a good deal same with their deals a £1500 reduced to £1200 but needs a £300 video cards upgrade which in fact saves you nothing long term

it's worth holing out a little longer for a much better spec machine at a better price

Full speck break down rrp Intel® Core™ i5-7400 Processor

ark.intel.com/pro…GHz

you always have to consider that say a £500 rig might need 200 or 300 worth of upgrades which would bring cost to £7/800 to bring to the standard you need

Just remember folks every time you pay "Full Vat" (Cost) for something your in turn setting that same inflated 100% profit ripped off price trend for everyone else to pay and keeping everyone's cost of living up including yourself

James, go away and stop randomly commenting and posting links to Technology well past its sell by date. This tech is about as efficient as Theresa May.

You cant compare something brand new with something old because its cheaper.

But using your illogical way of thinking, I Guess we shouldn't of bought our nice new house because the really old rundown one other end of town was half the price

James and Rog - you blubbering idiots should get married, seem perfect for one another

I like to surf the web and every now and again will edit my photographs.
Are you saying if I buy this PC I will need to spend an extra £200-£300 to make it acceptable?
Is 3.0GHz on the processor too slow?
What would you recommend?

If anything needs done with medication I think you need to adjust your dosage, not sure if up or down would be appropriate.

Yea but you need to post a brand new computer cheaper than the one offered. You raise a fair point by showing you can buy second hand but everybody could find a second hand version of most electricals posted on here and claim the deal is a bad one.

This deal is fairly decent.
On the other hand, the comments in this thread are embarrassing.

My point is that I would never advise buying a new pc.

For 1080p ultra gaming you need a 1060 or rx 470 graphics card and an i5 2400 cpu will do you fine.

The machine posted only had a 1050 graphics card which would give an inferior gaming performance than the 2nd hand option and nearly twice the price.

Yes, it's much better to buy second hand tat off ebay

This is a good price for what you get. You can customise the spec on the PC Specialist website. Personally I'd put in a 500W PSU incase I decided to upgrade the gfx card.

What recourse do you have if the 2nd hand part fails or is not as described after the fact?

If the seller is good then you are protected with ebay slash paypal. I bought a dell t7500 server from computersinleeds last year for 150 quid and added a new rx470 and can play everything at 1080p highest settings.

I watch a lot of budget build shows on youtube and they all recommend the same thing. I got the idea of a dell server from a reddit called how to build a gaming pc for 100 dollars.

There has been little progress in cpu for a long time. Passmark for the i5 2400 is around 6000 and was just over 7000 for the i5 7400.

The graphics card are what matters.

My dell t7500's xeon processor has a passmark of 5000 so less than the i5 2400 (it is a xeon e5620) but my gpu rx470 bottlenecks it i.e. my gpu runs 100pc but my cpu does not.

So I would look for a better balance between cpu and gpu.

The consensus on budget build youtubers is to buy a refurb old pc and upgrade the graphics card.

This is because a lot of companies upgrade their computers every 5 years or so and there has not been much improvement in cpu vs gpu.

Is an example video. A replacable 200 dollar gaming pc from ebay. The guy upgrades the psu. I was trying to find one that doesn't need the psu upgrading to make it simpler.

Why would refurbished computers that have been working in an office for some time and they have now upgraded be tat?

Lol no one would pay £100 more...

Up until a certain point, consoles are better.

Personally, a PS4 pro is probably a better buy than this, even the standard one.

Assuming you don't need a PC...

Doubt it as my xeon has a lower passmark and is bottlenecked by my rx470. Not much difference in passmark for i5 2400 and i5 7400

cpu and gpu seem to be running both close to 100% on this
i5 2400 and 1060 playing GTA V at 1440p

tom's hardware says can be 10-15% difference in them. they are a good match for non-4k gaming

They make them down the road from me and very friendly

Always leads into a argument, dont know why people bother posting deals anymore !!!!!

Accessibility is not required. All legit Win 7/8 COA will activate to 10 as normal even over a year after the cut off date. It seems Microsoft want everyone on Windows 10. All you need is a legit Win 7 or 8 COA and you're good.

If you already had Windows 10 here is what you could self build.

uk.pcpartpicker.com/b/C…323

Note this one uses a more expensive MB. Has hard drive and SSD, You have to add on memory and PSU cost. £150?
So £700 overall but the SSD would be worth it. You could easily select a gold rated 550w PSU around £60ish. I suspect for the build posted you are paying circa £90-100 for Windows 10. I recently updated my Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free. I had a legit version of Win 7 on CD. You would have to build the machine yourself too.

For a gaming PC a PSU at 350W seems very low. If you ever wanted to update the graphics you would need a new PSU.You can buy cases that have PSU already fitted.

That being said the i5 7400 should be fine for many years. It's an okay CPU.

Note Intel's next generation CPU are due out in 1-2 months or so. The market is heading to multi cores as main stream. 6-8 cores. The i3 chip here could be great on their 8th edition chips. New motherboard required?

For me I am done with buying ready made PC. I prefer custom built now. You get the parts you want and know you can update in the future.

Not bad but the case is not half decent. It looks awful.
