Just returned from our local PC World, they grudgingly price matched my items but the manager thrice said that I'd got my timing spot on and that they were ending their price match from tomorrow.

I'm not sure if they're ending it completely or will only stop price match with online stores.

Reason I'm posting this as a deal is: I'm posting the following items as links (A 4GB SD Card that can be price matched at £4.69 and a 2GB SD Card that can be price matched at £3.59.) in the post below and hot votes would get this on the first page for more members to see, get your price match's while you can get them!!!

I would encourage further posts for price matches in the posts below.

Who did you price match against? (play, amazon?)

play.com, but they said they'll be ending all price matches today. Haven't seen this anywhere in the press and I had procrastinated my purchase by two days and would've lost out if I'd waited another day...

Why the cold votes?

Please explain.

I am assuming it would have to be the same brand etc, for them to price match. ?

Yes, but you can price match against any of the following stores:

Websites: items sold by Amazon.co.uk*(excluding Amazon Marketplace), Argos, Asda, B&Q, Comet, Dabs*, Ebuyer.com*, Dell, Evesham Technology*, Game, Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Jessops, John Lewis, Maplin, Misco*, Play*, Staples, Tesco, Toys r Us, Virgin, Woolworths

8gb cruzer - £6.99 after match

Farnborough and salisbury nearest me

I bought a camcorder from pcworld yesterday, I got it price matched with amazon.co.uk (phone order). What they told me was that as of today (Friday 17th) they, will no longer be price matching with amazon.co.uk. But they didnt mention any other retailer.
The very nice lady at pcworld said amazon.co.uk was the retailer most customers did a price match against.

lol, was I lucky then?

anyways, if more than one store is saying it then they definitely will stop price matches....

I tried about half an hour ago... Ultra SD card 4.99 online and 29.99 instore (2.50 off so should have been 2.49) They've had an email and won't honour it. THEY REFUSED TO PRICE MATCH!

Lucky I got 3 cards last week when the deal was originally posted

Looks like price match is still available, it is just amazon.co.uk that has been removed.

They have finally removed it from their website (it was still there this morning)

If they are still doing play.com pricematch (I RECOMMEND YOU PHONE THEM AS STORES HATE THIS), then why is this deal getting posted as cold? Was it posted before?

Ive given heat

I did. The guy on the phone spoke to the manager and they finally (after about an hour ) said no - arguing that it is Play Trade as Play do not dispatch the item. Gave up in the end.

ROFL still got Virgin on the list mind... lol

What a load of hassle, definitely not worth it to save a few pence

lol, doesn't matter much. most of the items that amazon and pc world sell are usually sold by marketplace sellers. :-)

Someone posted who works for PC World posted yesterday that you can no longer price match in-store, but can still do it over the phone & the process to go through >

]http//ww…ng/

Printed off the ]Play.com Flash disk summary page and went to PC World. Picked up two 4GB SD cards on wednesday (£5.99) and today got a 2GB SD (£3.59). They did have to check that they matched with Play.com today, but I quietly pointed out that the words "Play" was written on their Price Promise sticker on the till, and then there was no problem.

Not sure how they calculated the prices but just grabbed the cards and left.

Marvellous

Was in PC World in Garston, Liverpool this afternoon and picked up 2 Ultra 2GB SD cards for £2.49 each. They price matched with Play.com

Play £ 4.99
PCW £29.99
110% -£27.50
£ 2.49

Took a lot of discussions but the manager honored the match.
