Constructor takes the empire building and resource management of the best simulations and adds to it a strong dose of character interaction, humour, and strategic competition. Take the role of a real estate developer in a race to build up and manage resources, properties, environments, and human interaction, while trying to outperform and destroy rival development companies. Start with a few workers, foremen, repairmen, and a small sum of money. Through precise resource management you'll have to take care or your tenants' happiness and compete against your opponents. Would you like to be rich and ruthless or maybe you prefer to create your own Utopia?

  • One of the most memorable city-building sims, distinguished by its cartoonish graphics and a wide range of "extra-curricular activities"
  • Take out your competition's workers, steal their assets, burn their building and bribe city officials
  • Management and competition in a humorous setting

Yeah l've got that, port is good. Like it as much as the original, which was one of my faves growing up.
I love these kinds of games - not a clue how I managed to completely miss this game when it was released and when I had tons of time for gaming

Oh yeah. Championship manager and Civilisation pretty much ensured I barely left my computer.
I tried this on the Playstation (either rented it or borrowed it from somewhere for a weekend) and really enjoyed it, but for some reason a save game took up 15 blocks (an entire memory card!) and I didn't have a spare one so I wasn't able to save my progress and thus never got very far. It's been 20 years but I'd still like to give it another try, and hopefully won't have the same problem with the PC version - I'm assuming the save games don't take up 1tb each!
Cheers for the post!

Some of these older games can seem to use a hell of a lot of space for save games. KOTOR is a good example where I think I filled up 1TB with save files!
Ahh loved this game back in the day! Thanks!
Thank you! I loved this game.
I LOVED this as a kid thanks!
Thanks OP 🏼
Loved this game when I was a kid. Considered buying on the Xbox One when I saw it in the store, but the price put me off. I won't bother now I have the original free! Have some heat!
Can I change the aspect ratio to widescreen?

I first got this game for the PlayStation. I loved it, nobody else I knew shared the same enthusiasm. A few years ago saw the PC version for 50p in a bargain bin in GAME and grabbed it. I still play it now. Awesome game

Thank you OP, great game and was only looking at in the PS4 the other day, glad I held out!
I still have the original CD and it has been staring at me for years because I loved this game when I was a kid but now I don't even have a CD drive to put in
But I download the GOG version a couple of years ago and it works really well, everyone should try this game!
This is a really fun game but my God is it a tough one.
I have just found on Steam there is a new Constructor HD, any views on the remake?

The remake is mostly just cleaner graphics and interface, a few new buildings (that don't really serve any different purpose to existing ones) and better network play support. I'd recommend it if you enjoy the original (great opportunity to try it now!)
Reading the reviews, it seems to suffer from the common Steam affliction of premature release

There are 2 different versions on Steam, the remake released last year called "Constructor" (Which was originally called Constructor HD) which has bad reviews and "Constructor Classic 1997" which is what this GOG link is for which has mostly good reviews.
