what makes this soap so special? Never tried it.

I can feel a political debate coming on.

it's a nice lubricant for special times if you are single

It doesn't lather much but gives a different feeling of cleanliness, hard to describe. I find it tightens the skin in a good way & reduces blemishes after a hot shower. Quite prefer it over the normal soap bars.

people still use soap bar these days?

Honestly, I don't mean to trigger anyone's OCD, but if you're going to wash your hands, why would you rub them on something which everyone has touched when their hands are dirty?

A soap dispenser makes far more sense.

I am studying microbiology at uni and swabbed the soap dispenser to see what was lurking on there. You do not want to imagine what sort of disgusting bacteria that grew as a result.

Absolutely stunk the lab out for the 3 days it was incubated too.

As a layman, I don't understand how bacteria gets inside those hand wash dispenser? (if that is what you are referring to)

at least it should be no worse than those soap bars which everyone touches with dirty hands

I swabbed one of the dispensers that you push with your palm and the soap falls onto your fingers underneath. I swabbed the bit where your palm touches. It doesn't take much to get bacteria on it. For example.. It takes 10 sheets of single ply toilet paper for you to not get faeces on your fingers when you wipe.
I doubt everybody uses this much paper.
Can imagine the bar soap is just as minging as the dispenser, however the soap would be able to kill some bacteria, the dispenser wouldn't.

You ate food with your right hand and wiped with your left or dung hand as the Arabs call it.Being left handed I have to try really hard to remember this when visiting some countries to avoid causing offence

Surely if u used a dispenser the contents would wash your hands killing certain amount of bacteria, the tap handle would then contaminate your hand with more bacteria, unless u turn the tap off with a paper towel

Well if thats got bacteria and it transferred onto your hands, surely they will be killed as you wash your hands with the soap?
