i was just about to edit it but you got there before me. Thanks

Hot, these are meant to retail at £450ish but have been around the £250 for a long time. I think they are selling them off cheap as they want you to pay more for the Autotune upgrades. Which are not needed but add extra features.

At this price couldn't resist. Another xmas pressie out of the way :).
Thanks OP.

no probs I hope who ever its for enjoys it! quite tempted my self although I don't know if I need another guitar haha

I've 12 guitars at the moment and I'm struggling between the fact that she is unlikely to notice another one and that my life will be a living hell if she does, great price though

haha just buy it! say it has been there all the time. better still say it was stored in the loft

I picked one of these up recently from peavey (ex demo unit) and paid £90 so this is a good price for new.

Observations :-

1. The autotune works but unless you buy one of the upgrade packs achieving perfect tuning other than standard tuning is tricky. I know this sounds silly but believe me it's true. eg drop D will be based on how in tune the note is that you fret at the 2nd fret of the low E. With any upgrade pack you get perfect drop D as a preset amongst others. I factored in the cost of the essential pack which meets my needs (around £50).

2. The guitar itself is pretty good imho although opinions vary. The electric pickups sound fine. Some have replaced the tuners with better ones but mine seem OK.

3. It eats batteries so factor in the price of the at200-b midi/power breakout box (about £54 from Thomann, click here). I am experimenting with rechargeable batteries as an alternative.

4. To do upgrades you need a compatible midi interface and a pc. Check the autotuneforguitar website for details click here

5. New v3 software had just been released and has much improved modeling. The acoustic models particularly sound great to my ears.

any good for beginners? any suggestions? ta!

yeah definitely. there's nothing worse than trying to learn on a rubbish guitar as it just makes it harder!

Heat added and purchased - these were $999 in the us when they came out and were classed as an average guitar - so for about 20% of that price probably makes it outstanding

Is everyone else's working okay? The tuning feature didn't work on mine (strange metronome-like sound then no green led) so I sent it back. They sent me another one and.....same problem. That one's going back, too. If I didn't know any better, I'd say they sent me the same one second time around. They claim they didn't. I've written down the serial number so will know for sure next time.

I'm pretty sure the problem is faulty wiring. I've looked online and have found nobody with the same problem. I must be extremely unlucky to have the same problem with TWO of them from the same place. Hopefully it'll be third time lucky......

I'm very tempted to buy this as my first electric guitar...

Any more reviews from those who purchased one?

These are now £109, and i still can't decide...

It was third time lucky for me ☺ I still think they sent me the first one twice, but it's all good now.

I bought it for its versatility when it comes to different tunings and it definitely delivers. It takes literally seconds to switch tunings. One downside I've found is that you get quite a bit of residual noise, especially when you're using a lot of gain. It's not really noticeable when you're playing clean, though. The updates (you get them when you buy the add-on pack(s)) will probably sort this out, I'd imagine.

It's a very well-made guitar, and even without the auto-tune feature, is worth at least twice this price, in my opinion. In fact, I've found myself playing it in passive mode quite a lot; the cleans from the pickups are lovely.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend it and am really pleased with my purchase.

Well having looked at plenty of reviews and demo's of it I'm pretty much sold on this one.

However, I'm a bit peeved at having to buy additional hardware just to update the firmware.
The firmware has to be updated on a PC and then the software is working only with iOS!
How stupid is that. Not impressed. Thats whats holding me back from buying this guitar.

It's a bit concerning (in the least) that you had to send back two of them as well.
There are some other great deals available right now also so, tough call for me.

Is anybody here using this guitar with Rocksmith???

I was under the impression that rocksmith just used an audio interface that allows you to use any electric guitar. I'm not sure what benefit you would have by using this?

This is what I'm investigating myself now.

As this guitar already converts the analog signal to digital, I'm wondering if it is possible to play in Rocksmith without the proprietary 'Rocksmith Real Tone' cable???

Kudos to anyone who may know, as I don't...

Great find OP

Tbh this should be great tech but it sounds like absolute crap in this video. Has anyone actually managed to get a properly decent sound out of one of these guitars?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo8T60jGWuc

Anyway what do I care I'm left handed

Also one other point, just like the Line 6 Variax you won't get the proper feel from alternate tunings, it all feels a bit weird to play.

I voted this hot and I really like geeky tech and this has bags of it, but the guitar is low quality, doesn't appear that it's that nice to play and I've tried my best to find a video where the guitar sounds awesome and that has been impossible to do so far.

I think it converts A2D pitch-shifts it then D2A to go out the regular guitar lead? Hence - I don't see a problem using it with Rocksmith. In fact, I've just asked my wife to put this on my Christmas list with the exact intention of using it with Rocksmith - I hardly ever play any songs other than the standard tuning - being able to play drop-D easily would open up a bunch of songs I never play!

To make things clear - it doesn't actually tune anything, strings tension doesn't change so if you're hoping for a motorised tuners for £100, you're in bad luck.

Electronics does the processing and lowers/raises the pitch while you play.

I'm not sure mate, I'm hoping someone can clarify.
It will be easy to test once the guitar has arrived anyway.

For myself. I currently don't have any amp or speakers, so I don't want to spend money on unnecessary cables. If it works in-game with the standard cable that would be great! If not, I'd much prefer to buy a decent interface than the overpriced Rocksmith Cable thing.

Providing that will work in-game too course. Hopefully somebody can help us out…

Surely thats the good thing? You can have any tuning, combined with any action.

There is nothing wrong with having ten different guitars for that, but currently I have only a broken up old acoustic.

Does it come with a standard cable by the way anyone???

If you tune down and the strings don't loosen, you won't be able to do bends as effectively as you otherwise would.

Ordered this yesterday for my daughter. Thought it sounded a bit gimmicky but bought it on the basis of a very comprehensive positive review on Harmony Central by Craig Anderson - can't do a link but worth a read if you are thinking of purchasing. The at200 is based on the Predator which seems to be a well regarded guitar.

The only concern is the supplier. I got a discounted guitar from Gear4music which was supposedly a customer return and 'mint' when in fact the wood had some very obvious marks and flaws in it - no wonder the original buyer sent it back. I was happy with the price I paid but not with the description on their site and would have been been disappointed if I had bought it as a gift.

I bought the Epiphone genesis deal the other week from Amdertons - that is a fabulous guitar and case for £219. Would have bought another but thought it would be too heavy for my daughter. Would definitely recommend the Epiphone though. Good reviews on You Tube.

anyone whos actually got one?...what tunings , features etc are standard, the gear4music website isn't too clear

Madness. Why on earth do I need another guitar?

Ordered - thanks OP!

These went back up again today by ten bob (dammit)

Heat added & purchased Thanks OP

Anyone undecided- might pay to be quick as the stock is only showing as a handful left.

I think a lot of people have. I've been monitoring it all weekend (whilst watching all the demo videos, reading reviews, learning about additional hardware etc) and they have literally sold hundreds of these. The stock has been steadily going down, and then been topped up again but it hasn't gone anywhere near this low…

They should be paying you commission, only 2 left now…

EDIT: ALL GONE! Status is 'available for order' but @ £299

Well, it looks like I've just received your guitar. It must be doing the rounds. No green light, just a metronome like clicking. Is the serial number BNBCH1311368 by any chance?

Not happy.

Oh no The serial number on my faulty one (the second one, at least) was BNBCH1311352

They said (last week) that they checked the ones they had left and they were okay. Seems they didn't, and there were some bad apples in the batch they had. I'd have gone through each and every one, myself.

If it's any consolation, they'll collect your faulty one and replace it all at their cost; it won't cost you a penny. It's a pain, I know.

Keep us updated.

Spoke to a helpful (and slightly embarrassed) guy called Ben who, after initially saying they've sold out, managed to find one somewhere and will sen it on once they've collected it. I stressed that it needs to be tested first.

You happy with the guitar otherwise?

Good to hear.

Yeah, overall I'm really happy with it. The only slight negative (as I mentioned earlier in the thread) is it's quite noisy. Once I update it (via the breakout box that I'll be buying at some point in the future), I'm hopeful it'll be quieter.

Just received an email from Gear4Music -

"We regret to inform you that your order has been cancelled. Our last pallet of these guitars have unfortunately been found to have suffered some damage in transit on their way to us and are not fit for re-sale. We are unable to order any more of these guitars from Peavey. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this unfortunate event."

Apologies, I thought I'd replied to this thread thanking OP when I ordered on the Sunday evening, about 11:55pm!
