Surely a chav will be nipping down to Brighthouse and spending twice the RRP on an iWatch?

Would you take a tin of beans back to a supermarket if it went on offer after a month?

it's not an app - the pebble time is the colour watch that was released … it's not an app - the pebble time is the colour watch that was released after this. they've just updated the firmware to include all the timeline features for the earlier models.but £44.99 is silly money - I'd be getting one if I didn't already have the pebble time

You have to download the Pebble Time app though to enable timeline on the original Pebble, I think that's what they were getting at.

The Pebble Time app does it all, the old app is there just to support legacy apps that haven't updated yet.

Those complaining about the 7 days battery life, yes, its not great compared to a normal watch but compared to other Apple/Android smartwatches which needs charging at least every 2 days, its definitely a lot better.

Added bonus is, the battery is tiny, so its not like you need to charge it for hours. Once a week, charging for an hour isn't exactly time consuming.

On seeing it on offer, and, being an old man used to reading the time off my wrist, not digging my phone out of my pocket, thought I'd give it a whirl. And I love it, does what I need it to do with the bonus of picking up the notifications which I was forever missing. In some jobs, it's not possible to have your phone out to read the time, we're not all paperclips sorters. So if that's not the case and you can have your phone visible all the time, fine, use that instead. Although Apple would prefer you to buy their watch

I see... or I could just wear my £13.49 Casio divers' watch, and get another 3 spare ones in case it breaks :-)

I know, I've become too cynical.

The steel one has a newer stronger magnet for the charger, tri-colour led for the charging display and gorilla glass from what I've heard/read.
    Hope that helps

I did consider unknown chinese smartwatches but didnt go for it due to security concerns. I also had the same reservation with android wear.
Anyway I never regretted it with pebble as I needed a watch plus doing the fancy things. 2 weeks battery for me as I shut it down when I am home

Also, in reply to one of the posts earlier, if you don't know why you need a smartwatch and you're happy with a £16 Casio then...you don't need a smartwatch. No need to be baffled, no need to be bemused - just ignore threads like this and enjoy your Casio

This has been out of stock at Currys for the last 2 days across North England and Scotland. I've had this many times before with Currys, they have no intention of selling the product at this price, and use it just to get traffic to their site hoping you will buy something else when there.

I seriously doubt you will see it come back in stock until the price has gone back up.

Picked up the steel yesterday and wow! The minimalist interface is what is all about.. Only realised after owning and using moto 360... Android wear is like strapping a full blown phone to wrist... This isn't and that's how it should be!
