to be fair, I did miss off "@ Curry's" in original post
Great looking watch, if I didn't already have a Motorola 360 2nd gen, I'd be buying one.
Damn it, I just got one of those Microsoft Band's a couple of weeks ago..

Some people paid a lot of money for the 1st Gen Pebble steel when it was new. This is a great deal for the Pebble, which in my opinion is focussed on important genuinely useful stuff.
It is good value. I recently bought the original Pebble when it was being sold for £49.99 and, despite having a few teething problems getting my Xiaomi phone to play nicely with it, it's great, does all that I want it to do.
Any good with an iPhone 6s Plus? Or are functions fairly limited? .......
this or the Sony sw50....
I've had the Pebble Steel for nearly a year now and it is excellent. Does the simple stuff very well.

Just got a Asus Zenwatch 2 but still keep putting the Pebble on instead. It just works!
Arrrgh so tempted...does the black version "keep" the black paint or it comes off after a while?
Lovely. Now I'm wondering if I should return the Pebble original that I got a month ago and get this.

As if I wasn't already bankrupt because of Christmas shopping...

I got a Pebble a month ago as well, but how can you return it once 14 day period is over and you have used it?
Does Amazon usually price-match on Pebbles ?

I read that it comes off after a while so better get the silver one
Thanks OP - ordered one. I'm sick of picking my phone up every time I hear a bleep only to discover it's someone else's phone.... Problem now solved

There is one on Amazon at £66.50 but not sure if it's the same one. Previous model?

That's the original non steel
Seems a good deal.

I however, am not ready to jump on this bandwagon just yet. The smartwatch malarkey isn't interesting enough for me yet
not great these tbh. better off waiting for Zen watch 2.

The first gen Pebble (this deal) doesn't have that many functions, so there isn't much if anything that you can't do with an iPhone.
The second gen Pebbles (Time) have some extra features that only work on Android, or certain US carrier (AT&T) but the really fundamental useful stuff all works.

For me, the Pebble is the only Smartwatch that I would bother with. All the others seem to be a bit gimmicky.
Got it price matched by Amazon on live chat
I actually like the look of it but the lack of touch screen and when you view a notification on your phone it doesn't remove it from your watch like Android Wear both put me off.

At £40 I would have took a punt but at £80 i'm going to wait and see if next years brings better Android Wear devices.

You must have been lucky, I tried to get amazon to price match but they said it wasn't possible
For anyone sitting on the fence, I have to give kudos to Pebble as they've just updated their software to version 3 for the Pebble classic and steel a few days ago. This brings the newer Timeline interface, which is a main selling point on the newer Pebble Time, to the older monochrome watches. The UI is much better too.

I bought my classic in the Black Friday sales. I was a bit meh about the version 2 software as it felt a bit dated, though it did notifications really well along with 7 days battery life. However the new software has really made it into better bargain than I hoped for as it now interfaces with more apps to give notifications, and generally the Pebble Time app store is better than the normal Pebble one.
anyone please this or sony watch 3 (£90 from very)?

Pebble steel was great for me but much prefer my Zenwatch 2 (Currys, £150).
nice find OP

The Sony is great but the GPS is a battery hog and not very accurate. If you want a simple watch with great notifications and a 4 day+ battery life get the Pebble (now getting the Pebble Time OS upgrade too). If you don't mind charging or prefer a colour screen get the Sony IMHO. Neither lets you change for a standard strap and neither has a heart rate monitor if that matters.

I sold mine as I wanted to use it to change music tracks when streaming music via Bluetooth.. But when having both watch and Bluetooth audio connected there is an error that makes it keep cutting out. Was unusable for my needs

What issues are you having with the Zen 2, I have this and the Pebble Time and worn neither since my Zen 2 arrived, can't go back to the poor quality screens, I thought the limited battery life would annoy me on the Zen but getting 3 days so no issue as charge phone everynight! The Pebble works and has some great apps but just looks cheap in comparison now.
Tempted but do I really need it
