Have you updated the original's firmware to 3.0? Are there any issues?

I've not used mine yet but on a deal for the original watch someone advised not to upgrade firmware.
Had both the original pebble and pebble time, excellent to check or send a voice inputted text message on the move.

I updated my original to the newest one and it is fine no issues at all, as you can guess with age technologies become dated, however pebble did a great job and the original watch is optimised perfectly with the latest firmware. Return from navigation to face watch takes a second or two, but that's about it.
Deal wise this is a silly price considering original pebble was on offer for £49.99 when I got it last December, very tempted... Heat added.
New firmware has made the watch "a new watch" . Given it a new lease of life.
Finally the right price for this!

I'd still get a Sony SW3 for the money though....
I would love one but I just can't justify my updating my pebble classic
Typical, just bought mine second hand on ebay and a week later the price reduces to this. Anyway I love it! and the best bit for me (a non techie) is the voice recorder that sends the message as a text. Brilliant watch, great soft strap, and easy to work.

Can you tell me why? I'm clueless with these smart watches but really fancy one and would listen to any input
Who on earth payed the 264 pound high price?! That is ridiculous!
New firmware has fixed an annoying bug on both my original Pebble, and current Steel (watch permanently in the 'connecting' state most mornings and I have to manually disconnect/reconnect via the app - they broke that for me back in Dec 2013 when they released 2 firmware updates within a week of each other, and the 2nd update knackered it).

New UI is great. The only issue I have is that some notifications, such as WhatsApp messages, occasionally appear on the screen completely corrupted. I have to press buttons to get it to appear normally. Only happens when using the default watchface (written in words).

Great price for a Pebble Time btw!

In my view the Sony has a much better screen. It's bigger and higher res than the pebble and much more readable indoors. The Pebble is colour in dim mode though, where the Sony is B&W.

I also love the Google Now integration, although I haven't tried a Pebble Time for a while, so perhaps they've improved the amount of stuff you can do there.

They are very different watches, so worth reading some reviews an figuring out what is important to you.

Ditto. Updated my Steel to 3.0 and my phone to 6p/Marshmallow and my Pebble became usable again. I'd stopped using it on the old firmware and Samsung's version of Lollipop as the connection was so unreliable. Not sure if Pebble 3.0 and Samsung+Lollipop would be any better ....
Still got a sealed basic Pebble (£49.99) Is it worth selling and buy the Time?

Is it worth the £38.00 extra?

Cheers for any advice

I suppose it is definetely worth the extra, however I am not sure how likely you are to sell original for £50, as they were on offer as low as £40 recently
New original Pebbles are still on Ebay @ £50 Buy It Now.

Is the Time worth the update? Dunno. The original now runs the same firmware. I guess the colour screen is an upgrade. And the shape is better. But battery life and most functionality is much the same.

That said, I've not felt the urge to upgrade my original Steel to a Time ....
Thanks all

Thanks for the reply.

I've updated it. Stupid thing wants me download apps on my phone (android wear etc!) but I've only got 500MB of memory left!! Whoops - better leave it for another night!!

(I find it quite cool though !) Just need to set it up properly etc then it should be fine - accidentally muted notifications from whatsapp too...
Had mines just under a month and will be returning it as I took it into the shower for the first time and within a few minutes the screen started fogging and hasn't disappeared since. Shocking considering its supposed to be water proof 30metres??

Not shocking exactly, you've just been unlucky with a dodgy waterproofing seal!

The Pebble Time is advertised as waterproof, so it should easily stand up to a shower. I've showered daily in mine for almost a year now and I swim in it frequently too with no issues.

If you contact Pebble directly through the support link in the Pebble app on your phone they should quickly sort out getting a replacement to you!
