Dark Habits (1983): Nothing is quite what it seems in this early Almodovar comedy in which the unconventional nuns of a dilapidated Madrid convent write soft porn, get high and still find time to design fabulous evening wear!

Pepi, Luci, Bom (1980): Pepi (Carmen Maura) is an unemployed heiress whose illegal plants, indiscreetly placed on the balcony, lead to an unwelcome visit from a policeman. The policeman presses his advances in exchange for not arresting Pepi. Later, however, Pepi exacts revenge by employing a punk rock band to pose as opera singers who stalk the policeman and beat him up. Unfortunately, the punk rock band/opera singers beat up the policeman's twin brother, and so Pepi befriends the policeman's long-suffering wife, Luci (Eva Silva) instead. Pepi is a liberating force for Luci, and soon Luci decides to run off and be a groupie for the punk rockers...

What Have I Done To Deserve This? (1984): An erotic and bizarre black comedy which follows a typical Spanish housewife with rather atypical family problems!

Nazis, homosexuality, drug dealing, extra-marital affairs and a plot to forge Hitler's diaries: everything you'd expect from Spanish auteur Pedro Almodovar's fourth film!

Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown (1988): High atop one of Spain's poshest penthouses, three women have come to the end of their mental ropes. Super-sexy Pepa (Carmen Maura), is forever teetering around atop her skyscraper spikes as she obsesses over Ivan (Fernando Guillen), the lover who just jilted her over the answering machine! Her neurotic best friend Candela (Maria Barranco), is seeking refuge at Pepa's place because she recently realized her lover is a Shiite terrorist. And Ivan's ex-wife Lucia (Julieta Serrano), was just released from a 20-year stint in a mental institution. They're all mighty mad - in fact, they're on the verge of a nervous breakdown... and one of them is about to commit murder unless the other half-crazed femmes fatales can stop her!

Flower Of My Secret (1995): Leo (Paredes) leads a secret double life as an author of romantic fiction. However, despite her success as the best-selling Amanda Gris her husband doesn't love her, her best friend is strangely distracted and her mother and sister are too busy bickering to notice that anything's wrong. Abandoned by her muse and seeking solace in the bottle since the collapse of her marriage, an unlikely figure steers her on a collision course with a new emotional entanglement!

Kika (1993): Young cosmetic artist Kika (Forque) is called to the mansion of rich American Nicholas (Coyote) in order to make up the corpse of his stepson Ramon. As it turns out, Ramon is not actually dead and he begins an affair with Kika. However, the path of true love never did run smooth and the pair must survive the threats of Kika's previous affair with Nicholas, the mystery surrounding the all-too suspicious death of Ramon's mother and Ramon's former psychologist...

Law Of Desire (1987): At its core 'Law Of Desire' features a fabulous trio: the famous Madrid director Pablo (Poncela) for whom men are prepared to die, his new love-crazed boyfriend Antonio (Banderas) and Pablo's flamboyant and gorgeous transsexual sister Tina.

Pablo is suffering because Juan, his lover, shares his steamy passion but not his commitment, and has returned to his village in southern Spain. Trying to forget him, Pablo is seduced by the tall, dark, handsome and heterosexual Antonio who, in the space of 24 hours, goes from having his first gay affair, to being Pablo's demanding (and threatening!) lover. Pablo makes the mistake of dismissing Antonio as inconsequential but Antonio intends to pursue his passions to their ultimate conclusion...

Matador (1986): At his school in Madrid, ex-bullfighter Diego Montes teaches his students the Corridor - 'the art of the kill'. Trainee bullfighter Angelo, sexually repressed and mother fixated, is taunted about his suspected homosexuality by Diego.

To prove his masculinity Angel attempts to assault Diego's girlfriend. Failing in his attempt and consumed by guilt he confesses to murders he did not commit - the victims are killed with bullfighting instruments at the moment of sexual climax. Angel is defended by lawyer Maria Cardenal, the real killer, who is obsessed with Diego and uses Angel to draw the maestro Matador into one last confrontation.

'Matador' is a darkly comic and seductive celebration of Spanish desire, repression and bullfighting, inspired by the Hollywood melodrama 'Duel In The Sun'.

The man's a genius. I paid £13 odds for these at Amazon and worth every penny. H&R added.

Looks good to me.
