Wow.....that's more than what i would pay for a car. Until i win the lottery, i'll survive with the camera on my phone.

Idiots voting cold. Awesome price, have some heat. Wish I could afford medium format, this is leagues ahead of a 5Diii and realistically not much more.

It is a awesome piece of kit, clearly not for everyone, must be a bargain for a professional.Hot

If I had the money I'd have bought one.

I suspect the Sony A7 R II easily competes with this in terms of image quality though, plus is far more compact.

Full frame vs medium? No competition there.

Sigma DP Merrills are about the only non medium format camera to satisfy medium format users when they don't want to carry the bulk/cost.

If the medium format sensor used the same technology as the A7 R II that would be a fair comparison.

Pentax ISO 100-1600 (expanded) 200-1000 (native)
Sony ISO 100-25,600 (native)

you are paying for cutting edge tech

I think this used to be 10 grand for the body only, it was in 2011 though.
Great price for a decent studio camera, think I'll stick with my £300 Sony though.

It's much better being a more recent camera but you do understand the 645D is the old model of a medium format?

The A7 is better than a haddock but it is still not a MF camera. Think of the glass!

Excellent price for the quality

Better just to rent this for the job. Same company used to do rentals.

Pav - be honest now - did YOU buy it ? X)

Would definitely buy if I had this sort of money to spend for new camera:)

Koni Omega is cheaper

I guess if your into cameras it's a great price so hot from me.
PS ignore the morons, same as you can buy a bike for £30......

Voted cold for ops stone cold comment

Nothing beats a physically large sensor, especially at low light.
Must be great for photos turned into posters.

I'd suspect not... :-/

wow what a great price..hold on a mo the decimal point is in the wrong place boldy locks this is cold

This camera is way out of my league but I still appreciate the size of this sensor is immense so probably warrants this price. Also cant find it cheaper anywhere else! Anyone in the market for this camera will cleary know what they are doing (or have so much cash that they don't need to :))!

Well given 99% of the people on here have no clue whether it's a good deal or not, and OP didn't give any indication what price it normally is, I can see why people voted cold.

Almost nobody need FF let alone MF. APS-C is fine for 99% of people and the lenses are cheaper than my car!

Hahaha, I don't think so somehow...

would have been more than happy in 1980, I remember I bought one of these Olympus video cameras(around 5kg) and Panasonic recorder(10kg), huge sizes too and I was very proud of it when I was around filming. Adding this camera would have been a joke at the time. A super camera but I Must pass, I cannot make it anymore.

I have Mamiya 7ii, Mamiya RB67 Ziess Ikon Folder, all medium format. Outstanding to use. The Mamiya 7ii lenses are mind blowing

That medium format is in a different league to 35mm in film and in the equivalent digital format.

Hot! A hell of a camera. Was £10k+ and a H'blad would cost up to £40k!

what is the point to vote, no one can afford this. I would have bought it in the past but now I go for pocket quality stuff only. Very hot anyway

neroneuk

no one can afford this.

Really? A smoker on 10 per day would spend in 2 years what this camera costs. 20 per day and it would be around 1 year. The price of this is also available on interest free credit too so I'm sure plenty of people can afford it.

Not that I would ever be able to afford it, but a good price for what you get.

I agree with you, but people likes smoke, alcohol and holidays even so they cannot afford it, many of them on income support too, lol.

Great post, camera and price.

I'm glad I'm in the 1% club then. The 1% that doesn't hold their camera's at arm length to take a photo.

Amazing studio, landscape, wedding camera.......

Puts most digital camera images to shame & not much similar anywhere near this price point.....you would struggle to buy a digital back for many other MF cameras at this price

It has a limited market thus limited appeal......but if I had a spare £3k I'd have one

HOT ! HOT ! HOT !

I will rather have **** extension.

Wow, I remember when this was seen as good value at 10K - this is unbelievable for three thousand. Hugely tempting but common sense has to win out, this is obviously amazing for certain uses but not as flexible as full frame for more general use.

Hard to imagine that 3-4 years ago this would have cost at least £10k & it still keeps up with most other cameras of it's type
