Thanks

looks like a good camera for the price....and i just caught a flamedeer. thanks OP.

Good price; shame no AF points in viewfinder after focus lock... No idea why Pentax keep doing this with their entry level cameras; it's a real PITA and a deal breaker for me.

Great deal, Heat from me!

Cheap way to get focus peaking with old manual lenses. This would make a good camera for anyone wanting to experiment with old nifty 50s lying around but be warned:
Buying Pentax will lead to excessive used of eBay and 2nd hand camera shops to purchase fantastic old lenses. You have been warned!

Vintage lenses are good fun to play with! Have a few myself.

Good kit, thanks.

Nice find

I've seen digital SLR cameras a lot cheaper than this - why is it worth £380?

2 kit lenses for a start... pentax's entry level is usually a small notch above canon and nikon's ultra enrty level but I'm not familiar enough with this particular model to know for sure. the pentax kit lenses are also usually of a higher quality than canon or nikon's kit lenses. beyond that, pentax K-mount allows you to use vintage K-mount lenses without an adapter, opening up a massive selection on ebay as alluded to by @matt_not_andrew and @InAFalsetto

Heat added!! I Love Pentax

People tend to forget that Pentax are every bit as good (if not better) than either Canon or Nikon. I have the K5 and it's the best camera I've ever had by far.

I used to have a K5, but sold it and went to a Sony VG10 hybrid camera as I got into video more. Still miss it though.

Who loves k5 II vote hot on this one

good find

I am looking for a camera to take pictures of my toddler but all the cameras I have take the picture to slow so I usually miss the moment as she will move. Is this a good camera for my needs or can anyone recommend another one (preferably cheaper than this) or at least explain what I need to look for in the description. Many thanks in advance

I would advise you look in to buying a Sony NEX 5N Interchangeable lens camera as this DSLR might be a bit too advanced for you. The NEX 5N can be had from anywhere £250-£350 used on ebay.

Fantastic price, a very good camera package!

Same camera is now available at Wilkinson Cameras without the zoom lens for £299.99 after INSTANT cashback at checkout I believe. Take a look.

Hot! I got the canon 600d deal the other week (wish I hadn't because Canon are a pain to get cashback from) but if I hadn't I would have been tempted by this! Great camera, only real thing I would miss on it is the fact that the video on it isn't as good as the Nikon and Canon equivalents. Great deal for a great camera though!

I would recommend that as well even if I'm a pentaxian. Pentax DSLRs are great, but the joys lay playing with old manual lenses. I had a daughter this year and found taking good pictures of her really hard. It is not just because of the manual focus, but also the limited illumination in door. It may end up buying really expensive auto-focus fast lenses which I can't afford. While on the other hand, those mirrorless cameras such as NEX ones are really easy to use and produce fairly good quality photos.

Pentax cameras are great, just not fit your purpose.

I'd agree with what's been said above. SLR's are not for everybody and since having a child have hardly used mine due to the faff factor. I played with a nex-5 in currys the other day (clearance offer. Don't know if still available) and it's shutter lag and focus speed was fantastic. If I had the cash would've had it there and then.

Been looking for a decent entry level dslr for a while now.Was looking at getting a Nikon, however I was swayed by this deal especially with the £50 off code. Also I understand that you can use older pentax lenses with the correct mount, this alone could potentially save you loads. This camera also gets top reviews.Just ordered mine.
P.S its also possible to get 6 months interest free credit.
