Good price for this camera. Today's price drop at Amazon makes it cheaper than anywhere else I can see. Lots of good reviews.

Just ordered one for Father's Day thank you hear added

I bought this camera last year, awesome little camera, easy to use but plenty of scope to get arty and complex. Plus easy to add C Mount or D Mount cine film lenses that you can get relatively cheaply online and at camera fairs.

Not a full frame dslr, but small, light and easy to carry. And it looks really cool!

Very nice deal! No doubt there'll be the usual plethora of know it alls advising advising how much better "X" is and why etc etc....how lens X, Y or Z will be better blah blah.....

Top and bottom in that's a well made camera at an absolute cracking price.Plenty of options for the hobbyist to either point and shoot ( let's face it , that's what 90% of us do! ) or be more creative.

Nice and easy to carry around too.

Heat added.

I thought the lens was very wide, but taking into account crop factor the lens becomes a 28–83 mm ... Nice range

5-15mm lens what does that equate to in zoom (eg. 3x?)

It equates to a 28-84 mm lens on a dslr...so you're absolutely correct, it's a 3 x zoom. A good starter lens

I miss optical view finders on old cameras. Bought a no name Chinese digital camera to take on a trip to the jungles of Borneo back in 06. Turned the screen off and just used the optical view finder. Battery lasted for 3 days of continuous use and it just about made it to the 4th afternoon. Walking out the jungle and back to the main village and the battery gave up. This has nothing to do with the deal but I wish optical view finders came back in (cheaper) camera fashion.

Need a new camera for a wedding and this fits the bill nicely. Well spotted.

Heat.

Amazing price for a camera including a lens kit, heat added too

This? the MX-1 or the Fuji XF1?

I realise they all have their pro's/con's and different price points, but for someone that wants a semi decent easy to carry around/use camera around the £200 or less, any thoughts?

Ordered and Heat added, Thanks again OP!!!

I've got a Fuji X10, and a Pentax Q (not Q10) with a collection of lenses for it (this 02 zoom; the 01 standard; the 03 fisheye, and a couple of other toy lenses, wide and tele, but those two I hardly ever use). I would now say that after a few years with both, I've had far more fun with the Pentax Q, and more irritation with the Fuji’s random inability to focus when it feels like it. I like them both, but I tend to pick up the Q more these days. I also now have a cheap Chinese video lens mount adaptor, which is nice if you’ve got any cheap video lenses (C or D format) to screw in, as I happened to have, but I wouldn’t go out and hunt for such video lenses specifically, as they’re not as good quality as the Pentax Q lenses are.

I just like the results from the Q, and the usability, and, well, there’s hardly anything I don’t like about it. It’s just immense fun. Also, don’t forget, the raw format is .dng! Yep, saves direct as DNG.

It’s a shame this price isn’t for the Q7!

Oh by the way, the Pentax Q and the Fuji X10 (and X20 and XF1) all share the same battery type. They might have different numbers but they’re the same battery.

Cheers for that.. would you say the Q10 is user friendly for a "novice"

Definitely good deal

Yes!!!! To start with, you can simply "point and shoot"..then become more adventurous and play around with it as you get used to the camera. For that price, which is what you'd pay for a half decent compact camera, I'd just get it!! End of!;)

The 15-45mm lens is £225 separately.

You can buy the Q10, 5-15mm and 15-45mm in a kit for £299.

If you want the extra lens, buy the kit.

The pictures on this deal: hotukdeals.com/dea…367 were shot with my Pentax Q and two Nikon flashguns with optical slaves fitted, bounced off the ceiling and wall. The subject is sitting on black velvet. The flashguns were triggered by the Q’s pop-out flashgun but I used a small piece of card held in front to reflect the Q’s flash upwards so that it didn’t contribute to the image lighting, only acting as a slave trigger.

This Pentax or a Olympus PEN E-PL3???

This Pentax or a Olympus PEN E-PL3???

look at the lenses you may want in the future if any and their prices
epl3 uses m4/3s so has loads more choice if wanting to expand without using adapters

There seems to be much more availability (discounting adaptors) for the Olympus but at the core of the camera - which is the best any clues?

Only you can decide.

is it so hard, epl3 is surely better and has a better system unless you have reasons why its not? potentially size but what else?

I actually owned an Olympus E-PL3 for about 9 days before I returned it. I found it a very nice, usable camera, sensor image quality was a bit noisier than I was expecting (having had an E-P1 before — before getting it stolen in a gym that is). However, the E-PL3 was exhibiting a fault whereby it shut down after taking the first shot, sometimes. I really liked the flippy screen, that really enlightened me, and is the main reason that some years later I bought a Sony NEX 3N (flippy screen, goes all the way round for selfies, a feature I use for video a lot). The standard zoom on the E-PL3 is actually very good (compared with the first version of it on the E-P1 and similar). I didn’t think the sensor was as much of an improvement as it could have been. On balance, between the E-PL3 and the Q, I can’t really tell the difference in picture quality, it’s more down to usability, and they’re both good in different ways. Both just about pocketable on big pocket days, both a lot of fun. The E-PL3 has a lot louder shutter though. The Q can’t angle the screen, but I used it a lot in Jamaica last year when I thought I wouldn’t be able to due to shut-down from overheating and screen visiiblity in bright sunlight — those things didn’t prove the showstoppers I thought they might be.

You seem to be extremely tall! X)

Ordered! I have been looking at this one for some time, definitely the best price I have ever seen.

Has anyone any experience using Microglobe for buying camera accessories?

I noticed they do a stonking price on the 15-45mm Telephoto zoom lense @ circa £150! Presume at that price it's got to be a grey import..???
