This was so cheap I had to share. Amazing price for such a new camera that's been getting positive reviews.

[edit] Just noticed that they're on ipoints too (3 ipoints for every £1 - no great but better than nothing). Can't find them on Quidco though, which seems strange if they have an affiliate deal with ipoints, but not them.[/edit]

Steve's Digicams review - steves-digicams.com/200…tml

From the Warehouse Express website:
The Pentax X70 Megazoom digital camera features an astounding 24X optical zoom lens which covers equivalent focal lengths from 26mm up to an incredible 624mm. What's more, the additional 150x digital zoom takes this maximum focal length to a whopping 3900mm! And all of this is housed in a highly portable, compact, lightweight body with a 12 megapixel sensor, SLR-like styling and flexible exposure modes. The Pentax X70 is an ideal camera for intermediate to advanced pphotographers looking to take a step up in from digital compact cameras without the size, weight or expense of a DSLR camera, as offerer the ease-of-use of a compact with the performance of a DSLR. Shooting options such as aperture/shutter priority and metered manual modes combined with Shake Reduction, fast operation and a high quality zoom lens mean that the X70 performs excellently in all kinds of situations from casual snapshots to travel and sports photography.

Anyone got this camera?

I'm so tempted!

Battery 170 shots (non-AA, which is bad, imo). Consider the Canon SX10 instead.
Review here:
On paper at least, it’s a good little camera. However, in use the X70 is slow, image quality is distinctly average, and it’s far too expensive.

You could get a decent entry level DSLR for less, and have some money left over.

Still got 81% though (which in my day was good) and has got positive reviews elsewhere. Although, at the RRP it's too expensive, but this deal makes it much more competitive.

It all depends on your needs. If you don't need that 24x zoom, then you're paying a premium for that technology so this isn't the camera for you. Also, I think you'd be hard pushed to get a good entry level SLR for £289.99 with a lens that has anywhere near the 26-624mm focal range of this Pentax.

The main thing with cameras is to narrow the field to what you actually need. This is a lot of camera for the money if you're going to make the most of that lens.
