This can easily play Cod MW 2 and Crysis!

I'm not sure I'd quite have described it as serious gaming capabilities, we've only talking GT 220/9500GT performance here, but I suppose it's decent for a laptop.

It looks like a reasonable price if you need both blu-ray and a decent graphics card, although it's a shame the CPU isn't better.

The weight is rather light for a 16" though at 2.75kg, I wonder what the build quality is like?

Stunning!

If only £50 cheaper!!!!

Ruined by the 1366 x 768 resolution on the 16" screen... such a pity!

Also looks like one of Fuji's slim-cell 6-cell batteries (so capacity isn't any better than 3 cells - which won't last long on this!).

I am seriously considering buying this laptop but am worried that if something goes wrong I won't get good customer service because of all the negative feedback people have left all over the internet :x Should i buy it?

Very good spec, very good price. I have never owned any fujitsu items, can anyone tell me if they are any good as a company and how do their laptops rank with HP, Sony and Toshiba?

Not trying to be funny but the 240gt aint exactly anything special, its like a desktop 9500gt.
And as far as i know fraps would record it at a constant 30fps so really your not seeing all the lag!. Theres no way this card would play crysis on high settings, no chance in hell... a 4850/9800GTX gets bout 24-30fps on high, a card which is about 3x worse would get like what 10fps max? Thats not playable :D.

Dont get me wrong, its a good mobile card and yes would play most games on low/maybe medium but im just saying to others not to expect to run latest games on max like your kinda implying :P.

Voted hot as its not to bad spec, although im waiting for the mobile 5000 series to be out cause that will shake the market again

Darn, no numeric keypad.

Then again has it? Some images of it are showing it with one but some are not?!?

I dont like Fujitsu at all, working in IT support for local government, seen too much Fujitsu kit fail.

The 240M card isnt great, but certainly adequate.

Dons flame retardant suit -

I'd save the money and buy the acer, but then again I've had no problems with Acers, neither have my friends who use them. All down to personal experience I guess.

No need for flame retardant suits. My kids have Acer laptops and they are just excellent. No worries at all and lasted better than a previous Dell & Fujitsu.

the company i work for buys these models for the salesman that go out, we also have one in the office that's been running constantly on for 3-4 years now, never turned it off overnight, still working strong, these series are very well built and put together, they feel very solid, i think this is a great laptop :whistling:

This is very good vfm , If you don't like dabs ( i found them to be pretty good) , I believe the BT website do the same here - shop.bt.com/pro…560

and no as far as I know it doesen't come with a dedicated keypad.

hot for me

That's a matter of preference, 1366x768 at 16" is the standard 96dpi that desktop monitors use and for gaming on a weak laptop graphics card the low native resolution will benefit a lot of games but of course web browsing won't be ideal, especially with the 16:9 screen cutting down the already small 800 pixel height of the normal widescreen.

From notebookcheck the mobility 4650 appears to be about the same as the GT240M.

Having to drop down to medium (with no AA!) for some already released games is about what I expected. Crysis Warhead isn't great at those settings and, while you do have fraps knocking some performance off, I think that section was a relatively light one and you'll probably get that sort of performance or worse without fraps on the Ice sections. Playable? Barely, Serious? hardly.

It does seem to be about the best you can get for a laptop at this price so if you need a laptop and can live with the size and weight it looks like a good choice.

What has to be realised is that Fujisu are the only company to produce high CPU powered laptops with Windows 7 64-bit and a reasonable graphics card for less than £600.

The only downside is that they usually come with 4Gb which has to be chucked if you want to upgrade to 8Gb and that there is no point running 64-bit if you only have 4Gb or less.

Why's that?

pay the extra £50 and get the acer, loads better graphic card, much better screen, and might i add full HD, whats the use of having a laptop with bluray and no full HD screen.

lol joker

And I must say the max resolution of the screen is low at 768 vertical if you can get the Acer 7738 which is cheaper and has a larger screen with a higher resolution. My 9 inch eee pc has a vertical resolution of 768. Otherwise it is a good buy IMO.

these is a massive point in having 4gb and 64bit systems

32bit applications like pretty much everything today can only use max 2gb ram running under windows 32bit
32 bit aaplications can use full 4gb ram running under windows 64bit

try it...

My point was that its better to have a 32-bit operating system when only having 4Gb. Yes, you lose about 256Mb as the OS can only reference about 3.8Gb, but its overall better.

The problem with 64-bit is that memory references are twice as long and this causes performance degradation which is usually offset by having more memory. So unless you're willing to chuck out the 4Gb and upgrade to more than 4GB, there is no advantage in moving to 64-bit.

There is no-one that will tell you that their normal 32-bit Windows app will need to utilise more than 2Gb memory and there is no-one that will tell you to move to 64-bit unless you have more than 4Gb. For example, if you had 3Gb memory would you run 64-bit? It just doesn't make sense.
