'Please call a Dell Local Distributor to order'

huh ?

I got 8 of these last time. You can get CRT monitors off ebay, freecycle or gumtree for under £3 (at the very most).

Isn't this combining a discount and the recycle scheme? May not work?

realblender

Thanks !

"Isn't this combining a discount and the recycle scheme? May not work?"

Where does it say anything about that? Can't see it in the FAQ's. Is it in the T&C?

All the info is here at the top.

The Ebayers are voting it cold as usual!

Good price anyway for the screen - I got the ST2220L which also has HDMI a few weeks ago for a £100 and I'm very pleased with the picture quality.

I did this last time. Only got £7.04 TCB cashback and still haven't had the recycling money. Still, a very nice monitor for the basic discounted price.

Nice price if it all works out and you can be bothered to locate and send old monitor. I need to turn loft upside down and test old 17" CRT before I buy.

ordered been waiting for these to come back in

Need to replace my dying CRT...

Any cheap sound bars for these?, also would the soundbar get power from the monitor or require another cable?

ta

I thought the old thread referred to the discount vouchers that people were adding on where this is applied automatically.
Edited by: "KTF" 23rd Jun 2011

Does the voucher code not remove the 25% discount? What voucher codes are you guys using.

Seems like this is going to be about £10 more expensive than last time due to this 10% code, I was able to use it last time!

Also is anyone considering buying the VESA mount bracket on ebay? It's a bit pricey at £20 inc delivery considering the monitor itself is only £36! Does anyone here have access to a metal machining tool so they could make us one?

If anyone wants to see if there is someone here in the UK who is able to provide a VESA mount for this then check this thread:

Thanks, just ordered there now. I'll send em my two old 17" Monitors once I the new pair arrive and are set up.

When I send them my old monitors can anyone confirm if I will or will not need to send them the VGA/DVI cables?

Yes power and video cables must be sent.

That's quite irritating due to the fact that the monitors they sell don't come with DVI cables.. Yet I have to send them mine and purchase new ones. But for the price they are (as long as I can get the recycle money) I won't complain.

Thanks the heads up.

if only I needed a monitor. LOL.

@ KTF, thanks for clarification, real nuisance having to send in VGA cables, quick search in local poundstore for a VGA cable I think

They come with vga cables - I just chucked the new one straight in to the box of the one I was sending back...

Thanks OP, been waiting on these dropping in price again. I'm in!

Purchased for office, hope order arrives in time for old monitors to be packed up and sent off.

What the heck is that supposed to mean? Most monitors are branded...

I think they mean the etched company logo or asset number big businees put on thier equipment to identifiy it - it doesn't mean the brand logo! It would be silly if they did.

Thanks for clearing that up, wouldn't want to lose money over a VGA cable or two.

A word of warning. Don't buy the AX510 soundbar which the website recommends. It takes it's power from the monitor and this model can't do that! I complained to Dell and they are sending me a free replacement soundbar with power socket and told me to keep the AX510. You need one of these

you could go for the 23in monitor which has the sound bar option (£40 extra though) and also hdmi if you need it

AFAIK you send the old monitor off with a copy of your invoice for the new one, hence proving you actually bought one of the qualifying products.

So basically ATM - I only have a 17" LCD that I dont use - but dont want to send in either - or dont have one until I find one on ebay!Whats the scores on the doors with this?

or try freecycle.......i got one from there and ebay - both for free - guy on ebay had a 17in crt and didnt want anything as listed at bin 99p and only 9 miles away
