Virgin! 435g - large jar, so great price!

Use one tablespoon or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Can be used as a substitute for other oils, including butter. Use in cooking, baking, as a spread or in smoothies. As a body moisturiser, apply directly to the skin.

...also, a tablespoon a day can apparently improve Alzeimers/Dementia symptoms!!!!

Thanks for posting. I’ve added the price and merchant to the title.
Here’s a ‘Help’ link which gives tips and advice on thread posting.

I have been using this from Tesco, is there any massive difference in the 2? Much cheaper!

101 Uses for Coconut … 101 Uses for Coconut Oilhttp://wellnessmama.com/5734/101-uses-for-coconut-oil/

A good deal of that list has been debunked, it's been kicking around for ages.

Oil pulling (coconut oil mouthwash) is no more effect than water. It's swirling about that has an effect not the oil: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/eastman/about/news/articles/131108-channel-4-health-freaks

Coconut oil up the nose for allergies works by catching pollen etc. Petroleum Jelly also does this for a fraction of the cost.

SPF 4 protection is barely worth having and it's on the list twice, then mentioned a a tanning oil too.

There is no known cure for the common cold.

I would rather take my Alzheimers information from somewhere other than coconutoil.com.

Coconut oil is not a great personal lubricant if you use condoms.

Nothing gets rid of cellulite apart from losing most of your body fat. Cellulite forms because the collagen net in the skin as weakened.

Nothing is proven to stimulate hair growth, with the exception of maybe minoxidil based products.

It is great for preventing damage when washing hair though :P

Depends what you are using it for.

KTC coconut oil is chemically extracted. There is nothing wrong with that at all. If you are using it on hair or skin there is no evidence there is any different between using this or a virgin cold pressed product.

The Holland and Barrett stuff claims to be virgin, but I can't see any mention anywhere on the site or on the label that is cold pressed. Nor does it say it is organic. Which would make it much of a muchness.

If you want cold pressed and organic, then your local health food store is a better bet.

You could argue that cold pressed oil is better for you when you eat it. But even then there's a tiny percentage in it.

Thanks moneysavingkitten. Great info. I use it for cooking but only once or twice a week. For the price I'll stick with the ktc one for now!

KTC doesn't have that nice coconut smell and taste.
