Bit of a marmite drink - you either love it or you hate it. Brings back memories of teenage drinking having Pernod and black and thinking how sophisticated we all were instead of drinking beer and cider!

Just don't have too much though as if you end up "Talking on the big white telephone" its looks horrendous, second only I think to Midori the luminous green melon liqueur... My sister lives in France and drinks Ricard Pastis neat as "Aperos" which is very similar - will just stick to my gin I think.

Rolled back to £15.50 at Asda it's £18.50 in Tesco and Sainsburys and £19 in Morrisons and 40% abv

Tis the devil's work this stuff.. 🤢
Shame it's not 45°.
Ok for washing down the absinthe.
i use to drink this with Diet Coke and it goes a greenish colour! I had Ricardo in France and just the same...... but don't add diet coke in front of French people as the look of shock and disgust put me off drinking it lol

Goes green in contact with water. Star Anis essence is not water soluble which causes the coloured / milky reaction

Pernod! Friend of mine and I, over 25 years ago in our teenage years, made toffee flavoured angel delight using 50:50 water and pernod. Didn't set anywhere near as well as the strawberry and malibu version that we tried first. Drinking that aniseedy toffee gloop was rank. My mate puking it all back up over my bare feet was even worse. If you were going to buy a bottle of this, would definitely recommend not trying to make toffee angel delight with it.

Lovely in an "Esther Rantzen"...

The french really wonder why we drink this in bars before eating / not eating, just drinking lots.

We just love flavours I guess (& possibly curdling it in the stomach & hurling it up in a doorway later the same evening)
