This will hopefully come with a cardboard box the cat will actually use.

I bought 500g of 3.5mm aquarium activated carbon, and 2m of 12-15 mm (135g) aquarium filter wool, both are the closest to what is used in the original filters.
Just pop a knife in the front and pop the filter open, I used a dry white filter to cut around, put some charcoal in like the original and click it back together.
For about £7 for each you'll have a lifetime supply.
Give me a shout if you need a hand finding them on ebay

I bought this about 7 years ago and my cat took one look at it and never tried it. It sat there for months (regular fresh water!) but he refused to touch it...

We have this, our cat loves it would only drink out of the tap before lol
My two cats have used one for 3 years, I don't buy tge replacement filters, I just bought some aquarium charcoal and a roll of filter wool from ebay and make my own by popping the blue filter appart and replacing the charcoal and wool filter , snap it back together, job done.

It's not just for cats, Cat Mate is the make.
bought one last year and will only recommend if you dont mind a good clean on daily basis or the black stuff from the filter will stick to the plastics...
Should come with the standard warning

Don't cats like stale water?
I don't know who told me this but my cat wouldn't use one of these so I took it as fact.

Comments regarding the filter changing ...would not changing the water on a daily basis be sufficient and safe this no need for a filter . It's no different to us having tap water in our drinks bottle all day 😸

the filter catches the hair and bits of food that get sucked through by the pump.
The filter gets manky soon enough if left.
Brings back horrible memories of having one of these in the house. A combination of hard water & shed hair meant I was forever pulling the damn thing apart as the pump/filter was clogged. If offered one for free I'd decline it.

Alright blue peter, calm down 🤪
One of my cats will only drink out of mucky puddles or a running tap. We have one of these and she'll use it sometimes, other times she would rather have shrivelled kidneys.

No rhyme or reason.

They are OK but if you have a picky cat, don't get your hopes up. Might be money well spent, you might be better digging a small pond instead. Who knows. Good luck all, either way.

Probably have been happier with the box it came in! 😸

Any tips for getting your cat to drink from this? Mine definitely prefers the box, he gave me one of those startled "what the hell are you going to do to me with that" looks when I turned it on.

Leave it turned off until it gets used to it?
