I bought one of these as an almost disposable packable jacket for a 2 month camping trip and it hasn't let me down so far. Decent fill, decent zips, the fabric doesn't stain easily and the down and feathers stay inside. The fit is 'not' athletic, which is handy as neither am I. The only weak spot is the hood which doesn't have a chin fastening. For a Winter layer, its good value. Remember it is Down and Feather filled, so will feel flimsy compared to one stuffed with man made insulation, but its warm and light as a feather.

Trustpilot - Excellent

Peter Storm’s Packlite Alpinist Jacket is a reliable and really lightweight down jacket for colder weather.

This jacket with a generous baffle depth is geared towards mountaineering. Cut out for the cold, it holds the insulating down close to your core. The jacket's streamlined shape with flat seams, including side panels at the armhole and hem, make it easy for you to pick up pace on your walk. The hood is roomy and relaxed, acting as a wind and rain shield for your face when pulled up.

  • Men’s alpinist down jacket
  • Durable water repellent
  • 700 fill down insulation
  • Down-proof fabric – prevents feather loss
  • Durable, water repellent finish
  • Close-fitting cuffs
  • Adjustable hem drawcord
  • Zipped pockets
  • Colour: Blue

Looking for a good down jacket around the £100 mark. Is there anything in that price range? TIA

Look at Tog24. I've got two 800 fill down jackets from them. Excellent, warm and very robust. Think I picked each up for under £50

Highly recommend this jacket. Bought about a year ago and had it on many hikes and camping trips. Saved me in Australia back in their winter , didn't realise how cold the outback got but luckily packed this! It takes.up hardly any space when packed into it's pocket. I wear it all the time, even wearing it now on my bed as the boiler is busted hahah

That's a shame, but they've been selling this item for some time, so I'd be surprised if it isn't back in stock soon. There might be stock on the Blacks website at a different price and colour.

Also, the women's version is £21.25 (£25.20 delivered) at Millets, with code WINTER15 (15% off) and 1.7% Topcashback available too, so under £25 delivered after cashback..

Love to but I’m a logo snob. Anything with a logo on I don’t wear. Raybans particularly. Vain, I know! No logo!!

You can buy two at this price and wear them together and it's still cheap.

Got a Peter storm jacket like this on a previous deal. The stitching in the cuffs are shockingly bad quality. Mine is falling to bits after 6 month.

My cuffs did tear as I was pulling the jacket off.me by yanking on my left sleeve. They offered a replacement but I ended up just a stitching myself

Some poor reviews even at purchase price of 29 quid.

Different type of jacket. The Freddie one is a puffer, this is a packable. Also it is Down rather than synthetic filling.
