Used Costco fuel last time - my MPG was worse than it has ever been.

B.S.
You more likely had more traffic or more stop starts ,or accelerated quicker , or had the wind blowing against you or filled up the car so it was heavier or had more people in the car or maybe more shopping adding weight to the car after filling your car with other great Costco deals, or maybe the rest of your trip was more uphill than downhill.Perhaps tou didnt adjust your tyre pressures for the increased weight after filling with superb value fuel , etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
Thousands of reasons this could be the case if indeed it is the case

Let's keep on topic
If you read the link you'll see additives are added by Kirkland.
Won many a race without using the big 4 petrol at Santa Pod RWYB days
They all have to meet minimum Bristish Standards
Now let's get back on topic specifically relating to the HOT PRICE.

Travelled my normal route, normal times, mostly just me in the car usual ish traffic.

Owned the car 2 years, worst MPG yet.

Just saying.
Cold, lazy post without the travel effort🤪

Get you car checked out, I used to run a Lexus IS 250 FSport. When using Costco's Premium Unleaded, I'd get an extra 30-40 miles from a full tank.
B.S.
So in other words not the same journey as before with the same traffic and wind and weight given the extra fuel and load on the probably unadjusted tyres
JUST SAYING
Look forward to you posting your actual MPG/fuel cost results from the last 2 years confirming the point your failing to show.

Costco fuel is the same as the big guns, the diesel is premium version as well, and of course you can argue all day about supermarkets fuel and the additives they use.

I just filled up in Aberdeen yesterday at Morrisons, Diesel was £1.20. I was going to stop at Costco Haydock, I don't think I'll bother now.

There is NO NORMAL commute with the SAME conditions
Maybe you didn't read all of the factors that can affect a normal commute I wrote above.
Also you'll have had fuel already in the tank that was mixed with the Costco fuel so it wouldn't have had an immediate effect

Could be many things, even a couple of lbs down on the tyre pressure. I've never had issues with Costco fuel. Now I've changed to a diesel car I'll see if theirs any difference.
Never had issues with Costco fuel for either my Golf R (RON99 - super unleaded) or the Polo GTI+ (regular RON95 unleaded. Our old A1 1.6TDI used to run on Costco diesel. They all have their fair share of the additives you expect from premium fuel. The RON99 is every bit as good as Shell V-Power or Tesco Ultimate for performance and mpg, and the other fuels are good too.

At one point earlier in the year, Haydock was 8p a litre cheaper than my local (Gateshead), Looks like they're all on an even keel right now.

It's disappointing that the gap between RON95 unleaded and the diesel is opening right up with Costco. 3 months ago there was 3p a litre between them, now it is 10p a litre (yes, I know Diesel gets dearer in Winter due to all the fuel oil getting made for heating purposes, but it was only ever around 4p a litre more than unleaded until last Winter when it opened up to 6p a litre).

When I had my car remapped the guy doing it said that the fuel quality was pretty decent and not far off of Shell.

Totally Disagree when it comes to Costco. Their premium diesel is brilliant
Funny how people get so tetchy over the honest opinions of others on the quality of fuel. The executives must be pissin themselvex watching the sheepeople arguing about it whilst they fly about in their private jets

Don't need to be an "expert" to know 2 commutes are never the same re all of reasons already stated reasons and also one's not yet stated like servicing...i.e. air/fuel/oil filters/breather pipes that gradually clog or injectors that could wear a little bit more affecting atomisation and spray patterns all of which could also have a gradual effect on economy IF a car that had better economy 2 years before when filters etc may have been newer.
Easy to say it's the fuel when so many other factors like wind direction/tyre pressures/weight/number of stops and starts eg traffic lights/traffic/queueing etc have a critical effect on economy.
Blame the fuel that has met at least the required British Standards last not first.

Hot yes.
The price of fuel should be under £1 considering how low crude prices have dropped.

Wet roads are one of the biggest single things to influence mpg, can use around 20% more fuel apparently as the vast amount of extra work the car has to do removing the water from the road.

Please just say the very next tank I filled up at shell/bp & I got 5 miles per gallon more despite it being windy, frosty & the mother-in-law coming to stay.

What does premium even mean in this instance? Marketing jargon? Is it the same as the shell diesel v power stuff?

I could write premium on a banana, doesn’t mean anything.
I drive 20k miles a year and I'm one of those sad people that has my receipts and miles since last fill up to calculate my MPG.

I get a similar MPG with Costco's diesel to the premium diesel elsewhere - e.g. Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate etc. Only difference is Costco are about 20-25p cheaper per litre.

Your own experience may vary but for me, my car, and how/where I drive, Costco fuel is brilliant.

To be honest, they only did one diesel which was called City diesel, which has low sulphur content. I'm note sure how it would compare to the premium diesel. If Aberdeen Costco haf a fuelling station there I would have gone their instead, even if it was a price difference.
