Thought this was a great price for a petrol brush cutter with a 4 stroke engine so you don't need to mess around with strimmer cord, power cords or two stroke oil.

Reviews a bit mixed mainly around assembly but you can always bang it back on the counter if it doesn't go together. In my experience most of the "it ran for four minutes then stopped" are people not realising you need to put oil in to four stroke engines.

You also get a £5 voucher or add something cheap on to get over £100 and get the £10 voucher.

But you don't get the voucher until you've bought it...
You have to buy something with the voucher so you aren't saving it!
Yes but still worth mentioning as you could want something else at the same time so you split the transactions.

Ask for a carrier bag when paying for this and they'll add the 5p, taking it over £100 so then you get the voucher!

The reviews don't seem very good. Is it well built?

I am following this thread with a lot of interest. I am in the market for a petrol strimmer/brush cutter also. So everyone agrees the SGS Engineering version is the best option for the price? Do they have any voucher codes for their website or it may be best to order through Amazon for their customer service backing if anything went wrong and SGS weren't cooperating? Many thanks

Mine working great and use it every other week

Sure I only paid £60 for ours (bought from their ebay store) it came with brush cutter harness and mixing bottle.

Starts on 1st or 2nd pull from cold every time

Edit: I like to let it use up the remaining fuel in the tank after each use so let it tick over until it conks out.

It's a great strimmer even perfected it to the point I don't need to go over with a lawn mower, cut with this then rake up grass.

Lend it to my neighbours also both commented on how easy it is to cut through the thick stuff.

is it very big and heavy?

Subjective really , I'm 6ft 7 find it comfortable enough but yeah it is a bit.

Only negative i can say more to do with harnesss, the harness straps come out the harness if you have it loose, there isn't much room for adjustment if you like the strimmer to be at a certain angle when cutting.

Also it's loud at full throttle
Mmmm brush cutter, way more dangerous than a strimmer... These are for over grown gardens that haven't been touched in years. For just touching up edges definitely don't use this, I used one for going through some brambles and I didn't feel comfortable with a spinning blade whizzing round just in front of me.
Don't know if I should go for a smaller engined 4 stroke or a large engined 2 stroke? How much hassle is it mixing fuel with oil to fill up a 2 stroke?
Shall I go for this strimmer or the SGS one :
