This is the 182kW version which equates to 244hp.
I think I might fit the engine in my car, it will be a major power increase.

I believe it is meant to be 1.82kW.
Go to buy milk and cheese, came home with a lawnmower. This is why I cant hold a relationship.

Briggs & Stratton engine....Same as you’ll find on most of the leading brands mowers
Is this self-propelled?
It's OK, spec reasonably good for mower & 42cm cutting width, just that the price is a bit meh!

Not bad, just not a stonking bargain

not on your nelly
gave it heat to shift it over 100C - you won't go wrong @ £139
shame its not self propelled, I have a SP mower and it makes really light work.
These b&s engines are cheap crap carburettor burns out in them after one season of cutting. Took mine to local business to get look at the guy told me it was 50 for a new one. And it would likely not last. It's laying in the shed from September not sure what to do with it.. cost me about 120-140 in homebase last year.

You get what you pay for i think. Wish I had of spent the money on a good branded lawnmower.

But with three year warranty on this maybe it's worth a punt.
The Aldi one is self propelled HERE.
£40 more, but more powerful, larger blade and larger collection box.
I drive a Honda lawnmower...wouldn’t sell it for this German junk.

Never put a foot wrong in over 10years, trick is to run it for an hour each week (even in winter), wife thinks I’m barmey, but it’s still running so who’s laughing now?

ertainly not her.

Is this by the peas and carrots or the tinned foods? I might put one in my basket next time i pop in for some bread. I'll have to remember to add a lawn mower to my food shopping list

My cheap Flymo petrol mower with a Tecumseh engine still runs perfectly after nearly 16 years, I only ever start it when I need to cut the grass It's also got a plastic chassis so no rust to kill it.
In comparison my fathers Honda mower only lasted 4 years and rusted too pieces.

If you have a Flymo, you're mowing a small garden. No idea what the Honda was you're talking about, but having used a HRD 536 plenty, I can tell you they're not junk... the Honda engines are the most highly prized engines in the market.

Agreed. Tried cheap and nasty, never again. Been using a Honda Izy for years now, would never go with anything else. Starts first time every spring and never loses a beat. Probably costs double this but worth it.

I used a HRD until I moved to a place with 0.5 acres to mow... stripes became a thing of my past!

I now have a John Deere Tango mowing it for me 7 days a week. I just strim the edges with a Stihl, easy life!

I never said Honda engines were junk and I agree they are top notch, but in comparison I was saying my £120 Flymo mower with a cheap Tecumseh engine that has only cost me £6 for a starter pull string in all the years I've had it has been great value.
Also why on earth do expensive Honda lawnmowers like my father bought have metal decks that rust to pieces in a few years leaving a perfectly good engine that is now useless because the decks are so expensive if you can get hold of one.

Briggs & Stratton produce a range of engines, some are good but some are not. As a general rule B&S engines fitted to budget mowers, such as this, are not much good.

Honda on the other hand does not make poor quality engines for budget mowers. They do however make steel mower decks that rust through long before the engine expires. That is unless the owner goes to considerable efforts to prevent the rust getting a hold.
Does anyone have any experience of LIDL 3 year warranty? Is it worth anything

I haven't seen a Honda with anything but a cast aluminium deck for I don't know how long, no idea which model you speak of. Even a 20 year old HRD (which which still command £300) will have an aluminium deck and be completely serviceable.

Well, it's either 1.5hr a week with a 53cm self-prop mower, 2k for a rider/ride-on, 2k for 24 months of a gardener, or 2k for something that costs me no time, just a little electricity and my grass never gets long and is perfectly maintained. It even mows at night (50db) so I barely even see it.

Excellent value for me personally.

I've used the LIdl warranty, admittedly not 3 years but 6 months

No questions asked, just took it back for refund to my local Lidl with a letter they (Customer Services) sent me - I'd lost the receipt but with the letter I didn't need one - obvs with a mower, put the receipt in a safe place

Your gardener would be on a fait whack lol

Given grass doesn't really need mowing 1/3 of the year, he'd be on £19/ hr

Next time you need a pull string, get one on Aliexpress for 88c... That's what's currently on my ancient rusted and plated up Briggs and Stratton mower.

I only needed the handle but just changed the lot - was silly not to!

I bought this from Lidl 2 years ago, took me about an hour to set-up, had to buy oil and fuel. I didn't want to spend so much on a Honda and thought this was worth a try. I haven't been disappointed.

I ensure the fuel is empty over winter and drain/replace the oil in spring. Besides that it starts first time and the covinience of not having a trailing wire is worth it.

I've not even had to change the spark plug!

Erm NO! a quick google of 'Honda mower' shows plenty of Honda mowers with steel decks still for sale today.
They remind me of the Datsun cars from the 1980's the engines outlived the rusty metal body shells.
