Popped into morrisons as they were closing earlier and spotted a couple of workers bringing out signs for pg tips half price was £5.68 now £2.84. The price seems pretty decent. I had a look on their website but couldn't find anything on it (probably because it doesn't start till tomorrow).

was in a bar once and a guy who worked pg came in and wanted a pint.bar keep asked him to leave.guy enquired why and was told that he wouldnt serve him cos they only serve tetley.

I wonder if there is a quota! Not allowed to buy more than 1 or 2! Morrisons do like to do that> I drove miles to get some CapriSun and the manageress told me that I was only allowed six, so I left them on the till. I also found out that I was only allowed 2 seabass. In the end, I had to go separate times! Very strange and inconvenient as I don't live near Morrisons.

well in regards to the seabass they must be really popular so they have to scale back

This is a bargain! nice find op xx

i saw a sign in co op saying half price Tetley but cldnt see what price/size this is a good price hope it works at market place smaller stores too

been waiting for this offer for some time now!

Prefer Tetley myself, but this is a good offer for you PGT drinkers. Heat from me.

Thanks, good price.

can't you just buy them, take them to the car and then go back in for more and avoid the till you visited?

[quote=aym280]I wonder if there is a quota! Not allowed to buy more than 1 or 2! ]-----It's a fair policy, designed to stop traders clearing the shelves like they do on some specials in stores like Lidl, and leaving nothing for the rest of us.

Yorkshire Tea for me all the way, but for anyone who likes PG this is a good deal...but for me I can take it or leaf it.

As someone who has worked in retail - doing something like this really isn't cool.

I had a day off work today and my sister and mum asked me to pick up some boxes of the tea for them. I would just like to point out that the Morrisons in Coventry Binley have NO signs about any limits per customer. I was stopped by a member of staff who said I was only allowed to buy 6 boxes. I too just left them at the till. Surely I should be able to buy as many as I like. Morrisons should be happy as their stock is shifting. Having no signs stating quantity limits is not cool.

Morrisions don't have to sell you as many as you like but there is no message on the website so it could be store/manager discretion. It's unfair that it is not displayed however and generates bad publicity for them.

Ugh. If you want a decent cup of tea buy some yorkshire gold. Cold. Not the tea obvs.

yes!

If you go into stores like Home Bargains or B & M Bargains, tea bags are always less than £1 for a 100 and you can pick your favourite brand!

yes but for 240 you would be paying £3 (tho getting 300)

and morrisons have a lot more stores (so local / localish to most) than HB / BM do

also morrisons normaly have parking lots, rather than paying £3 to park at the meter (more in most places), so unless your going shopping in a place near HB / BM if your lucky to have one local anyways, your not really saving anything, and could end up with paying £23 to get 3 x £1 tea bags if you live somewhere where parking is insane,

Could anyone not using their cuppa club points possibly email them to me . Saves them going to waste and would also help me.

For the past few years boxes of Tea manufacturers to coincide with European law were forced to display the products weight. Since that time the quality, quantity and standard of tea have declined drastically. I've tasted PG Tips, Yorkshire Tea (Gold & Normal), Tetley, Clipper (all versions), supermarket own varieties (Red, Brown, Gold Labels), Twinnings Every Day and Specialty Teas (Assam, Kenyan, Ceylon etc), Estate teas (PG, Yorkshire), Typhoo, Dorset, Taylors of Harrogate but even when brewed and squeezed, all taste weak, and lack the strong, distinct punch associated with old style tea (usually due to the Assam Tea). The only way to get a nice cuppa is through using two tea bags, such as Yorkshire and Clipper Tea Bags or the old style Punjana Tea bags (available from Morrisons).

Shops impose quotas for 2 reasons.
Certain types who buy lots of promotions cheaper than trade to sell them in their own shops at double the price.
Customers who clear the whole shelf in one go at a minute after opening for a years supply, leaving none for any other customers.
Morrisons would be happy selling all their stock of one item to one person. But that's less valuable than lots of returning customers being able to pick up promotions along with a weeks shopping rather than going to Tesco because Morrisons always advertise promotions they don't have.

Anyone not using their cuppa club points?

They but a quota on it to make it fair for all customers to get the deal. Which I think is fair

You should never squeeze your tea bags unless you like the bitter taste of tannin.

Anyway, I can't stand the taste of PG Tips myself; it's the equivalent to Fosters in the world of lager. I previously used to drink Yorkshire Gold but I moved to Clipper Organic tea recently and it makes a really nice cup of tea.... strong and very tasty.
