Great gadget

good find

Voted Cold - you need to spend nearly £60 on the accompanying mapping software - so not a very good deal overall.....

Does that assume that you want to use this for sat nav (e.g. in a car)? There are other applications for GPS and you can get free mapping (not navigation) software for PDAs.

Is 12 channels any good?

could this be used for wardriving?

Voted COLD for me also.

It uses the secure digital (SD) slot, if u r like me and have a PDA and use the SD Slot for the Memory card that has TOM TOM installed on it, then this is no use to me or u...
I Think i will stick to my Bluetooth GPS Reciever i have. It sits on the dashboard & is the size of a FAG Packet, It only cost me about 15 quid

So, vote on whether it is a hot deal or not. Not on whether you think the product is any good or not.
Would you vote "cold" on a jacket that was in the wrong colour (I'm assuming you are a winter!) Vote cold on a PS3 deal because you own an XBOX?
I think this is a good price for what the item is.

:?If someone thinks the product is no good, surely they can vote cold, as it would not be a hot deal for them:whistling::p Not voted

You think it’s good others clearly don’t;-)

My eyes lit up when I saw this, as I thought it might work on my Axim X30i, but to be honest, it just appears to be another obsolete item that Expansys are clearing out lately :-(

pharosgps.com/ gives:
"You are not authorized to view this page"

and I have checked the site using site checkers in case it is just rejecting my IP address. The cached pages on Google don't help much either :-(

I can find more information on the inner workings of the Illuminati than I can of this product, such as whether it allows an SD card to be piggybacked on the device itself, or even a manufacturer's website that works!

just because it isnt right for you doesnt mean it isnt a good deal....
there are plenty of pdas out there with both CF and SD slots,

its still a great price for a gps receiver even if its only going to be useful to a few people...

It would have helped if the website worked, id quite like to know if it would work in my laptop but not going to take the chance on there not being drivers...

I does not work in laptops as it only has PPC drivers.

Just buy a Bluetooth or USB GPS receiver. not very expensive now anyway, my Bluetooth unit was about 32 quid ages ago, and they were cheaper last time I looked.

Laptops are hardly pocket sized, so won't make a lot of difference.

Not a very practical solution for many GPS applications though, even though plenty of software supports GPS receivers. Hard to carry on foot, not the easiest option in a car, and when not moving around, then I usually KNOW where I am in the first place!
Have tried my Bluetooth receiver with Google earth and Memory Map on my Laptop, but have only actually used them on my Pocket PC.

Why? Have you got some surface to air missiles mounted on the roof of your astra?
