I'm very choosey when it comes to protein and have seen great results with PHD lean. As i'm near the end of my tub I had a hunt around and found this deal, which seem very good!!

Thanks for posting. I’ve added the merchant to the title.
Here’s a ‘Help’ link which gives tips and advice on thread posting.

Seems a reasonable price, though I really don't rate any protein bars.. As a matter of interest, have you tried USN diet fuel?

I have, the strawberry flavour is pretty good and it stops me from having a second breakfast/mid-morning snack

10% cashback at Quidco too

Can someone explain how this differs from the usn cyclone protein? I picked that up in an emergency to tide me over for post cycling workout protein but now I'm curious as to the differences. Cheers

I haven't tried it. I was recommend PHD by my PT and have seen good results, so have no reason to change at the minute.

What does it taste like compared to other brands? I usually stick with BSN Syntha 6 and its by far the best tasting protein shake I've had but it can be quite expensive and there isn't as much protein per scoop.

Any idea how much protein per serving/bar? Can't seem to find it on the site. Thanks in advance

I have tried a bunch of proteins and being a relative noob to it all I rate Gold Standard the best but recently went for Organic Sunwarrior which is even better! I think you get what you pay for!

2 completely different products. cyclone is an all-in-one muscle & strength builder (and not a very good one at that) and PhD Diet whey is a product aimed at those looking on losing fat.

cyclone is protein, carbs, creatine and some other useless ingredients like HMB, where as PhD is protein, flax, CLA etc..

neither are particularly great products. cyclone is redonkulously overpriced and PhD diet whey will give you the worst farts imaginable. get yourself to a bulk provider (i.e. go nutrition, bulk powders) and buy from them and save yourself some notes.

When comparing to MAXI-MUSCLE cyclone remember this is a Diet Whey product "PhD Diet Whey from PhD Nutrition is a great low calorie meal replacement, ideal for using in a fat loss program."

Never tried either of the products but the price is decent, just make sure you buy it for the right use or you'd be wasting your money.

how can you rate a product as the best as a n00b? what have you tried to compare and what gains were made to draw your conclusion?

also sun warrior is something like £35/kilo - how is that at all sustainable?

BSN is dreadful stuff - it's more of a lean weight gainer than a protein powder (given that half of your scoop is sugar & flavouring)

Can't say i've suffered with "the worst farts" but i have lost 3 stone in 15 months with plenty of training and regular use of Phd. It's really worked for me, but each to their own. I have gained muscle, but i'm not trying to get a body builder look, and agree completely there will be better product for that.

If you want to lose some fat and gain some muscle, I recommend this with regular exercise.

PhD stuff tastes way better than the rest. good deal! thanks.

No way is the RRP £99.99 lol!

Can you suggest anything else that tastes good with more protein? It's got the same amount of sugar per serving as the PhD stuff.

Just to throw another one in the mix USN Muscle Fuel Anabolic is worth a try, great taste and have never had an upset stomach or protein farts, the GF-1 is also great on low carb 'meal' options.

Avoid this company! They are unreliable and untrustworthy. They sent me out of date supplements and reneged on refunding me. Read the reviews on trustpilot.

Just placed an order - seems like a great price for something I have been after for a while.

I was so unhappy for missing GNC's Buy One Get One Free offer some weeks ago. This also a great deal, however, comments make reluctant to shop from the company :s

Not a great deal really, 5kg from Myprotein costs about £45, alot better value

5kg of Phd? Can I have a link please

I started using PHD DW back in sept as an aid to shift some beef I am 2 st lighter however this is partly thanks to insanity. I tastes greats esp if you mix it in a blender with ice. I have tried a few and PHD is by far the nicest. Also not experienced any side effects at all farts are no worse than normal ha ha and no worse than when on other shakes. The bars are also lovely and a good snake if like me you like a choc fix every once in a while. Not used this supplier I always use discountsupplements as they constantly have good offers on PHD just need to keep watching and when an offer comes up buy in bulk like 6kg at a time the white choc is the nicest.

Oh so you're not comparing Phd with Phd.. I'm sure there are loads of cheaper proteins out there.

Just so you know the brand is irrelevant, so you would be as well buying from myprotein.co.uk. For that reason I'm voting cold

Granted the MP stuff is probably cheaper in the long run but this as an individual deal is pretty good! I've only ever used MP stuff so will see if the brand really does make a difference. I've placed my order.

My thoughts exactly, protein is protein anyway.

If you're voting this hot/buying then you're probably brainwashed by all the marketing these companies put out

It doesn't make a difference
They don't have a magical ingredient to make your muscles bigger I'm afraid.

A box of 12 similar bars is £19.99 at MP
3kg of same type of powder is - £34.99 (divided by 3 x 2) = 2kg - £23.32

TOTAL - £43.31

This is £34.36 (£30.92 with Quidco)

How is this not a deal? regardless of your views on branding.

This one is totally different from Diet Whey. I literally just opened my first USN Anabolic tube a few days ago. Its an all in one to gain mass and taste very sugary compared to any other proteins powder I have tasted. I have also tried GF1 and it taste better than Anaoblic but that doesn't help you gain as much.

I was given some to try for free as I run ultra marathons and it's not bad. Wouldn't buy it personally but heat added

That has a lot of soya protein in though, which is bad apparently. I have tried that stuff though- bad wind issues though. Best bet is looking out for deals from the usual places when you can get 80% protein for about £10 a kilo.
