I know a lot of people are big fans of Phillip Pullman so I thought I’d share in case you wanted to listen in. On 23rd October the first chapter of the book is being read aloud on Radio 4, which you can listen to on catch up later if you wish:

The Book of Dust

Book at Bedtime

Simon Russell Beale reads La Belle Sauvage, the first volume of a fantasy trilogy by Philip Pullman, which returns the world of His Dark Materials.

You can listen to a sample in advance to get a taster here:

Looks like 22:45 but it’s also on catch up if you miss it. I had no idea they did a books at bedtime on radio 4, very handy if you struggle to nod off

Where have you been for last 40+ years. Only just finished 2 week revival of Adrian Mole.

Would seem a bit strange if you said that you liked Dick.

Philip K. Dick

You can hear some of his short stories read out on youtube.

I do like Dick

Some Woman named her son, Vagina.

The writer?
He's written some brilliant scifi and there are a lot of movies based on his stories.

How is this a deal? Maybe I'll start posting Eastenders schedules.

Because buying the book if you wanted it would cost quite a bit and you can enjoy this without being any extra out of pocket. Although you could borrow for free from the library?

Personally I don’t consider Eastenders in quite the same league as Phillip Pullman to post the schedule but if that’s your thing then go for it.

Please don’t forget things like this- access to new and engaging books - is still a treat for some people, as a partially sighted person I read extensively as do a lot of other people who are disabled, older or you know just enjoy listening to a book rather than reading a physical one due to capability or access. A new book read aloud, on demand all included in your tv license may mean zero to you but it means a lot to someone else.

I signed up for the prime 3 month audible trial and have used one of my credits to pre-order the whole audiobook. It should be released on the 19th.

I like listening to a book using the BBC audio player but prefer to have access permanently so I don't need to listen to it before it expires.
