I haven't seen such a small laptop with these specs for under £1000 but then my knowledge of computers is limited!! Let me know what you think...

This Philips 11NB5800 laptop is packed with specialised features to optimise performance on the move. The Intel Core Duo processor is one of Intel's ultra low voltage, mobile processors, providing optimised battery performance by decreasing the power usage to as little as 0.5 watts.

This laptop also featuresGenuine Windows Vista (R) Ultimate to provide superb functionality and increased security. Due to the special processor the 11NB5800 has up to 5 hours battery life, allowing you to use your laptop as much as you want where ever you are.

The 11" widescreen display, makes this laptop stylish and compact. Additionally weighing only 1.52 kg this laptop is super lightweight. The 11NB5800 also has 2 GB memory and a massive 160GB hard drive.

Nice laptop but no stock.

Nice laptop but no stock.

It looks very good at that price
probably snatched up by those people who work at the shop!:-D

Typical PC World vapour deal. Everytime they advertise something "not available for home delivery" it basically means they don't have any but want people to visit their stores and maybe buy something else while they are there.

No, it means the central hub is out, but the stores usually still have good stock.

Why would you visit the store when you can check the stock from home?

A lot of people do, thinking the store has got loads, when they get there they are amazed to find the store gets 2 in a week, happens a lot

Poor brand poor spec's cold cold cold.

Philips no longer make computers, these are made by a small taiwaneise company using the philips logo imo rubbish avoid it like the plague.

Ok Fenton98 or anybody else that has deemed this cold!

What would you suggest as a better option (ie better specs) that is lightweight, under 12" screen size and has a built in dvd drive?

I was hoping that if this transpired not to be the deal i thought it was then someone might actually have a reasonable explanation as to why e.g. you can get Laptop X which has similar specs for cheaper.

The silly comments about the specs of the laptop are probably not the reason why people are voting cold. It's simply down to the lack of stock anywhere.

My comments are based on fact, I Bought one of these laptops (philips) some months back. And as I will agree they are nice looking and lightweight, I do however take exception to the branding and pricing to take advantage on the brand name. Below is link to last time it was posted on here seems to pop up every few months or so. give it a few more months and maybe it will be a respectable price:)

Bought a Philips refurb PC from PC World. Went wrong within days and the repairman that came said they could not get any parts for them at all. He said he knows when he is coming to look at a Philips that it will need to be returned rather than repaired.
