I think the 32" Sharp LCD @ Play for £299 is a better deal

I agree, the sharp lcd @ play is indeed probably a better deal.

CRT ? is anyone buying these anymore sorry got to be cold

To be honest, if my tv (28" widescreen crt) died today I wouldn't by an LCD/Plasma. I'd rather leave it a year or two for the technology to mature a bit more and the prices to drop/quality to improve. That's not to say I'd buy this though - sorry! I'd actually go on ebay and pick up a very nice 32" crt tv for next to nothing because everybody else appart from me wants an lcd/plasma and so they're trying to sell perfectly good tv's that not many people want to buy!

imo: this would need to be sub £200 to be even mild:)

Banned

I have bought one as I did need a new garden shed and this is big enought to convert.

To put this into context I bought a 28" JVC CRT earlier this year for £95. You'd need to knock £100 off the asking price of the Phillips to get close to it's real value. Get the thermals on as its going to get cold in here.

what a waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a CRT!!!!! This could not be further from a bargain if it tried! Some may still prefer to buy a CRT but they can do so much more cheaply than this.

ok I give up
what is a A CRT please:oops::oops:

sorry centalmk cold for me.

This reminds me of that charecter from Mortal Kombat...

A good CRT will still be running long after the LCD screens have gone to the big pixel graveyard in the sky. However, you can certainly buy cheaper.

Yes, a CRT may last longer than an LCD. But with a life of 60’000 hours on an LCD (or 7 years if left on 24 hours a day) , can you honestly tell me that you will still be watching a CRT in 2015? On SD broadcasts?

waste of money

I bought a TV from Littlewoods/Bargain Crazy, which was a Philips 32" very similar to this with stand and had freeview for £283 last year delivered. Had to send it back as the screen went a pinky colour after 6 months. I think it became gay! Philips TV's especially this model and similar models have problems with thier painter chips which overheat and die. It is a design fault that Philips won't admit to and can cause the TV to due with a year, stop responding to remote, switch channels automatically, and other weird behaviour. You have been warned.
