Decent deal especially if quidco pay up. Not sure if they will deny the claim if you use a discount code and price match though

Is ambilight compatible with everything? By that I mean not only normal TV channels but streaming services and video games as well?

Yeap, it follows the colours on screen - regardless of source. Check it out on YT. Just to be clear, this is a hell lot more than just throwing a light stripe on the back of a TV

Well, that's completely dependant if you'd like the effect of ambilight and think it's worth paying the difference. May be worth doing a side by side comparison in case there are any other small differences.

alright thanks alot
I had the 55 inch version of this and while I absolutely loved the Ambilight and the picture was pretty nice I ended up sending it back because of the Philips Saphi software. I believe the 7 series and above use Android so I can't comment on them.

It was often glitchy, and not very intuitive to use. The remote was slow and I'd often press the button too often and miss what i was trying to get and end up in a completely different menu. Sometimes the main menu would not come up at all and I had to turn off the Tv then back on to get it. I might have been unlucky and got a dud set but I suggest people go and play with the software in a showroom before committing. It's a far cry from the Samsung and LG TV operating systems.

A minor but very annoying gipe was the lack of ability to reorder the channels to what I wanted when using the satellite tuner. Despite giving it my location it scanned everything in the local range and I ended up with over 800 tv and radio channels and a lot of them were paid for/scrambled. The best I could manage was to scroll over the 800 satellite channels it found and set the ones I wanted to my favourites, which I also could not reorder. If you red the online manual and the written one it says there is an option but when you navigate it there, there was nothing! I was on the latest software also. My aerial is currently broken so could not check Freeview so this may not of happened with that tuner.

I ended up getting a LG UM7400, the picture was on par but I do miss the Ambilight. However the menus, apps and general speed and stability of the system is miles better.
