Philips P5 Engine. Whatever the source, always perfection. The Philips P5 Perfect Picture Engine delivers an image as brilliant as the content you love. Details have noticeably more depth. Colours are vivid, while skin tones look natural. Contrast is so crisp you'll feel every detail. And motion is so smooth that you'll never lose sight of the ball, no matter how fast the play.

Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Cinematic vision and sound.Support for Dolby's premium sound and video formats means the HDR content you watch will look—and sound—gloriously real. Whether it's the latest streaming series or a Blu-Ray disc set, you'll enjoy contrast, brightness and colour that reflect the director's original intentions. And hear spacious sound with clarity, detail and depth.

Ambilight. Take the emotion beyond the screen. With Philips Ambilight, movies and games feel more immersive. Music gets a light show. And your screen will feel bigger than it is. Intelligent LEDs around the edges of the TV cast on-screen colours onto the walls and into the room, in real time. You get perfectly tuned ambient lighting. And one more reason to love your TV.

I really wish I’d bought another Philips instead of an “equal spec” Samsung, Samsung is really awful

i agree these phililps ambilight tvs are brilliant just shame about the poor hdr on my model but i can live with that SDR blu rays on these are spot on
I still love my TV I bought 3 years ago. Picture (as for my needs) is brilliant, ambi looks great. Oh, and Android is one of the easiest and neat I have ever seen on any other. Really nothing to complain about for that price. Wish I could get other Philips things so cheap. Heat from me

Fair enough, they have a lot of great features but any TV where it invalidates my warranty to turn off a dimming feature or it’s a lottery what kind of screen I get (IPS vs VA) is just not for me. I loved the amount of apps and the “One Remote” but a good remote and app selection isn’t my priority as I can change these easily with a streaming stick/box.

HDR is fairly rubbish on most sets in this price range I think.
55" for 485ish at richer sounds with 6 year warranty (just in case anyone's interested).

Edit: sorry didn't spot this is the 7000 series which is a higher spec than the 6000 series I was referring to.

Oops, yeah ignore my hasty comment. Totally different
This is the actual model connected to Philips Hue lighting to further enhance ambilight.

Why would anyone buy an ordinary TV when this is what you get with Philips for very similar prices??

With the price of the Philips Hue Sync HDMI Box and additional Play Bars, the Ambilight TVs are practically free.

And for that we have to thank TPVision, Philips' TVs Division new owners who have clearly taken the decision to make available the innovative/unique Ambilight feature to basically every TV buyer. Before this purchase Ambilight was normally reserved for TV sets much further up the price range.

A decision that must be driving the other TV makers nuts.....

And this is mine

Arrived today will start playing around with it today
Mine arrived today and it won't recognise the external HDD I had hooked up to my old Samsung. It only seems to recognise USB sticks???! What a disappointment.
