Sounds like a faulty unit, hardly all are like this.

would like that, where is it?
use code tvsave on the 55 to get it for 449
I got the 55" yesterday, seems great so far.
dropped in price by £30 from last week! I wonder if Argos would refund me??
Brilliant range of TVs, I have the baby 32" version - the ambilight feature is excellent especially when you sync it to the Philips Hue bulbs that we've all just bought on Amazon Prime day !

The colours from your movies sync with hue bulbs and its just brilliant if a little geeky
I posted the last deal. This is a stonking price. Unfortunately the TV isn't great. PQ was poor. Sound was ok. Ambilight was absolutely fantastic. I returned and paid a little extra for an LG. Great price though

Shame the tvs10 code never works with this one otherwise I would bite.
Use code TVsave for 10% off of £499 spend on TV @ argos
There is a similar specification tv but a Toshiba make available via costco priced at £329 (plus £15 annual subscription). Not very knowledgeable on tech but if anyone interested, take a look
I have this model of TV, contrast could be better but after calibration I find the picture to be excellent.

Think the code has expired now
Built in Freeview is poor but great TV otherwise, best used with a box.
429 now
philips... Uggg. Never in a million years.
I bought a 32" philips LED from Argos for £169, the picture is ok,

Has the standard backlight issues that LED's have,

It doesn't render skin tone very well, the faces look like wood,

The lag is poor it seems like the faces are not attached and float around somewhere near their face,

I use an android box with this tv to stream Channel 4 and Netflix,

I regret buying this TV, i wish i had seen the one in Asda for £180 which was an LG 32" before i bought the one i have now, it had a dimmable backlight,

I have since found out that Philips are only 1% owners of there own brand in TV's the rest is owned by another company in China who produce low end TV's all over the world, so it i now just a generic unbranded TV,

Philips used to be one of the top brands in cathode ray TV's mostly made in the UK, really good tuning menus, really nice TV's, they even made TV's for currys under the Matsui brand along with Grundig,

The effort hasn't been put in by the 3rd party manufacturer, they don't really care,

But Philips couldn't make money on these new style TV's any other way, shame really.
Got this in the 55" version and its great. It has both freeview and freesat tuners built in, The android apps allow me to do most things without the need for a secondry box.
After tweeking the settings the picture is superb, What people fail to realise is most out of the box settings with any TV is rubbish.

Heat from me

Good choice for SDR and SD/HD content, if you want decent HDR performance and black levels then avoid it
f you're looking for a solid all-round TV and aren't bothered about HDR then the 6501 is a great choice but if HDR is something that is important to you, then you'll need to move up the price range.

I ordered toshiba and today returning, when opened screen was smashed completely. Maybe damaged during delivery. One thing i can see is that LED screen popping out from one end. Looks very cheap !! not getting it exchanged.
