£400 at Richer Sounds with a 6 year warranty

Got this TV last month from AO at a similar price, other than the menu being slow it's an excellent TV, picture is great and the Black's are spot on for an LED. The Ambilight works amazingly as well, very bright. Definitely worth the price
Hmm. A 50" 4K HDR telly with Ambilight for 360 quid when Whathifi said it was a bargain at 600, is absolutely mental. I can't afford NOT to get it and that's exactly the reasoning I'll give my missus as I'm packing my bags later on this evening.
Literally got mine yesterday from RS after deliberating for a while (and trying not to take the HUKD moan squad too seriously).

Game changer. I actually switched from an age old Sony that only did 720p max, so any upgrade was going to be great obviously. The settings are real easy to tweak if you follow post #54 here I additionally set the smoothing to Sport as you'll notice the odd little jump on standard and everything is stunning.

4K Youtube/Netflix/Prime, I use a release PS4 standard, with Sky Go on it and the upscale is fantastic, gaming itself is insane, almost tempts me to go get a PS4 Pro would it not be a silly spend upgrade.

If you have a old TV and have been looking to update for a while, ignore the people who upgrade every year and cry about minor details, do not hesitate to get this TV!

How does this compare to the 55 inch? Is there any differences other than panel size?

Is the 50" a VA panel and 55 an IPS? I could Google but I cba.
I've seen people say these have Chromecast built in? If that's true can I just chose a show in the Netflix/YT app on my phone and cast directly, as I do now with my Chromecast in a non-smart TV? Or do I need to navigate the TVs own menu with the remote to play something on Netflix?
I tried to look at reviews but didn't see this mentioned

Thanks!

You can cast directly. It shows up as an available device in your cast list, and casting means it will take control of the TV and start playing what you've cast

This a brilliant TV. Love it
Great TV except got mine replaced, kept switching to headphone mode! (Without 🎧 in) They are bit buggy, reboot sometimes for apps to load. (Guess smart TVs generally are) Watch out if eco mode on, tv will go into sleep mode lol if no button pressed for a while. (Fools some people but not ‘the duck’)

Who are they matching for £389? I'm looking to pick this up as my parents 9 year old Sony has just started to fail.
Does anybody else have this connected to Virgin V6 box and get a high pitched tone when finished watching a recorded program? I got it on the smaller model, returned, bought the 50” and it’s the same.

Agreed, got this a week ago and the only fault really is the slow menu.

Just install the updated Google Home apk and / or get Chrome Canary browser, all the latest updates will allow some of the "lab" features, when they release them, to be used, you can cast to the TV directly, from any apps or any browser tab featured website you are looking at

Grab last weeks full firmware update, stuff it on a USB stick, ensure that the TV is NOT connected to anything, eg: sky / internet / router / 4k bluray devices and then do the update, it will make it lean and clean again, this will (likely) solve that lag, as the code in the latest update had been simplified and condensed

That would not be a fault (normally) of any output to devices, sounds like an i/o issue with the source feed eg: the virgin hub, have you tried plugging in a new hdmi 2.2 cable and / or trying the same recorded program, by ripping it down to the box again?

Who actually listens to the "no your not having it" Mrs brigade..

If I want to have it I'm having it... Simple as, she doesn't like it?? That's her problem - speak to a counselor love 👏

I'm not sure why the council would care about which TV to buy but I could try I suppose.

Yes we get this, not when watching a recorded programme but a few other times. We thought i was just the speakers that are connected but from the sound of it, looks like another issue
Came on here for a nice leisurely browse, walks away £359 poorer

Decent TV for the money though, heat given
The words "Ebay" and "Currys" don't exactly fill you with confidence when it comes to a warranty
Is anyone here familiar with the different series? They all mention Picture Performance Index rating which is a Philips own thing - I'm guessing the higher the number the better - but it doesn't actually say.

I'm after a 50-55 inch screen but not sure which series screen I should be going for. Series 8000 seems to be the best, but not sure if I should cough up the extra for the OLED 803 - any input appreciated!
Hot! Been eyeing up 4K TVs for months and this one seems to come out top on review sites for best budget 4K TV. At this price, I'm ordering
Great price, thanks for posting OP
What's the best thing to do? get RS to price match? or buy off ebay

It was on Amazon with a 2 year warrant for £369 (about) I called the national number and they said because of the difference in warranty, they couldn't match but if I rang the store they would probably do you a deal. I rang the Birmingham store and they said they could do it at £389 delivered. I spoke to Stephen. screenshot of receipt added.37529763-2mwzw.jpg
This is the comparison between the 6753 and the 6703 (this TV)

The 6753 has bluetooth, 2 x HDMI 2.0 and has a higher and deeper stand. Those are the only differences.

You've compared the 6503 vs the 6753 - this deal is for the 6703

This is the comparison you meant I think. From the looks of it the 6753 has;

• Bluetooth
• Slightly better HDMI connections - I don't know what they mean but I'm just guessing more 2.0 ports is better

6503
2 x HDMI 1.4 (ARC; CEC; MHL)
1 x HDMI 2.0 (ARC)
